2. Closed Doors
In life, doors close
Depending on the path you choose
As soon as your almost to the end
The doors will close again and again
But as you wait
You may relate
To situations you’ve seen before
Then you’ll find the open door
3. Damn Poetry
By Skyler Splinter
Damn it to hell
Why can’t we just learn how to spell?
I know how to read, I know how to write
I just can’t make poetry, it doesn’t feel right.
I’m good at math and English and science,
But when it comes to poetry, I’m just defiant
What’s the point, or is there one?
Who would do this just for fun?
Why is this so hard for me?
It’s almost worse than watching Glee
Express my feelings, I have no need to.
If you’re gonna do that, you might as well wear a tutu
Easy to some as it may seem
Poetry makes me want to scream
I’m mad at those who find it easy
But especially those who find it pleasing
I loathe poetry with such a fiery passion
I’d rather listen to a girl go on and on about fashion
Yet here I stand before you now,
Poem in hand just wondering how
4. Ode to Nature
By Skyler Splinter
Leaves falling
Lions Mauling
Tigers Roaring
Birds Soaring
Bugs buzzy
Hamsters fuzzy
Fish splashing
Elephants Smashing
Thrashers Thrashing
Humans Trashing
5. Meter
Today I plan to run away
From all the scars of yesterday
Rain clouds seem to come my way
They always seem so black and grey
6. Tom beat up bill
On the side of a purple hill
To the hospital he went
To the O.R. he was sent
But Bill didn’t make it
And Tom couldn’t take it.
