Cinderella owns will defeat evil soul of her stepmother &
stepsisters in the end.
≈Envy & Jealousy : Her stepmother always feel envy with
Cinderella. It is shown in the third paragraph, that no matter
how splendid and elegant her stepsisters’ clothes are, they
were still clumsy, lumpy, and ugly, and always would be. So,
that’s why Cinderella was given her stepsisters’ second-hand
dresses by her mother to make Cinderella looks ugly.

Setting of Time

queen
Setting of place

In the kitchen, where Cinderella was sitting all by herself, there was
a burst of light and a fairy appeared.
The Prince’s Palace : Ballroom
When Cinderella entered the ballroom at the palace, a hush fell.
Everyone stopped in mid-sentence to admire her elegance, her beauty
and grace.

 The narrator knows everyone’s feeling
 The words writer mostly uses : There lived, she, hers,
his, names of character (Cinderella, Prince, Fairy)

bit.”

• Her stepmother and stepsisters always treated her harshly , like she was
a slave

party in the palace
• The fairy godmother and her animal friend helped her to go to attend the

her step-mother would decline her wish and said, "You? My dear
girl, you're staying at home to wash the dishes, scrub the floors and
turn down the beds for your stepsisters. They will come home tired
and very sleepy."
Internal Conflict
Cinderella vs herself because she thought she was not fit in to go to
the palace, she was ugly, etc.
Symbol
The glass slippers, as a gift from Cinderella's godmother, are
symbolic of the gifts of Cinderella's character such as kindness,
gentleness, patience, and grace. The fact that the slippers are
made out of glass also plays an important role in establishing

1. Cinderella (Protagonist)
2. Step-mother (Antagonist)
 Minor characters:

Characterization
 Cinderella's character is a beautiful girl with kindness, politeness,
gentleness, patience and grace because despite the rude treatment

not deserve to be treated with such respect. Cinderella spends a lot
of time doing all of these chores, and she shows a great degree of
obedience, acting directly as her step-mother orders her.
 Her step-mother and step-sisters are very demanding, unkind, cruel,
and harsh. Unfortunately for Cinderella, her step-sisters are the
jewels in their mother's eyes, while Cinderella is just taking up space
in the background. Cinderella has been forbidden from many
activities for so long that she may no longer even attempt to escape
her prison like home filled with housework.
 The Prince is persistent and positive. From the text, we know
that when Cinderella was saying that they both will never
meet again, but The Prince still was certain that they will.
In addition, The Prince who was madly in love, wanted to
prove his love to Cinderella by putting on an effort to find her
 The Butler is an obedient and faithful person to the Prince. It
is shown in the text where he was told by the Prince to find
the girl whose foot those slipper fit all over the village .

 Proved by the author’s choice of words and details, shown in
the beginning of the story in which the writer describes
Cinderella as this poor unhappy young girl, lived in a house
where she always gets harsh treatment from her stepmother
and stepsisters.
Style
Simple : The author pictures the story with a few
chances of misunderstanding
Sad. In the story, the author depicts how miserable
Cinderella’s life by stressing that she was unhappy
and far from any descent life.
Colloquial because the author used the common
speech
