Presentation to SW London Humanists on Theatre503 in Battersea

1. I don't know much
about art, but..

2. I go to the theatre quite often, twice a week
is usual and twice in a day happens too

3. There are lots of small theatres in London,
they provide great quality and exception value

4. These are some of my favourite theatres,
all exciting and all easy to get to

5. I am going to talk about Theatre503

6. I have been to Theatre503 17 times
altogether and 7 times so far this year

7. Theatre503 is conveniently located a short
walk from Clapham Junction, or take a bus

8. It is above a good pub where I like to have
something to eat and drink beforehand

9. It’s a proper theatre with racked seating,
my seat is in the middle of the front row

10. Theatre503 has an exciting mission

11. I’ve chosen three plays to show what
Theatre503 is all about

12. Desolate Heaven
Desolate Heaven is a story of two young girls burdened with
unnatural responsibility. It is a story of falling in love for the first
time and a story about running away. It is a story about growing
up too soon and about why love can sometimes be dangerous.

13. Animals
77-year-old Norma is having a tricky day. She can’t finish
the crossword and Joy keeps stealing her recliner. Not to
mention Helen next door has twisted her ankle falling from
a weather balloon, they’ve run out of Class A drugs and
the Utility Inspector just popped round to see if it’s time for
her involuntary euthanasia...

15. WINK
John is a 27 year old teacher ‘who probably wasn’t
allowed to teach at an all girls’ school’ and Mark is
his 16 year old ‘Olympic porn watching’ pupil. A
normal week in their normal lives – school, eat, TV,
sleep, repeat.
