3. Biography for Speaker/Trainer, Susan (Suzi) Young, DE
Susan (Suzi) began her credit union career in 1996 at CP Federal Credit Union in
Jackson, MI. As supervisor of CP Federal CU's Financial Education Department,
she runs their "Partnership in Education" Youth Program, which includes over 40
schools in the Jackson area and 35 student-run credit unions.
Suzi is actively involved in community organizations that focus on youth financial
literacy, and currently serves as Chairman of Michigan's Financial Education
Council (FEC). She is the recipient of many youth awards including the "Golden
Apple Award," an award traditionally given to a teacher in the Jackson area, and
is has been recognized as a decade-long "national youth leader" by the CU
Network's National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB).
As a 2000 graduate of the CU Development Education (DE) Program, Suzi
actively participates in world-wide cooperative development projects, and has
been invited to speak at league and state educational events on the subject.
Suzi is committed to the development of credit unions, and youth education. She
makes it her mission to help students learn the important things that will impact
their lives. Proudly she is making a difference, one student at a time!
