Definition of Wind Turbine
•The meaning of wind farm or wind
 turbines is a rotating machine which
 convert the kinetic energy of the
 wind into mechanical energy which
 is commonly used for pumping
 water or into electrical energy that
 can be generate electricity for sale
 to utilities.

Technology and Research
• The technology which uses wind energy to
  generate electricity has helped research since
  1980 in lowering the cost of power generated
  by wind farm from 80 cent per kilowatt hour to
  between 6 cent per kilowatt hour nowadays.
• The continuous development in wind farm of
  improving performance and increasing their
  effectiveness as well as the sizes largely affects
  on reducing the cost of production thereby
  making it competitive with conventional energy
  at the present time

regions of the Kingdom with the
possibility of transfer to measure
the characteristics of wind (wind

   1. At the beginning of the eighties
   the Royal Scientific Society
   designed and manufactured
   mechanical fan in three sizes
   were installed on a number of wells
   in the desert.

2.Wind energy was used successfully in
  1987 in the hybrid system to provide a
  village in southern part of Kingdom of
  electric power; the system included:
 two fans 20 kW each,
 solar cells of 10 kW,
 storage batteries 330 kW standby
  generator of 65 KVA
