8. Started (by a consortium of donors) as 1
of 2 pilot projects in 2 countries
(Philippines & Burkina Faso) in 1993
Purpose was to test a ‘national-led
mechanism’ to fast-track grassroots
response to HIV&AIDS
Incorporated by a group of NGO leaders
(Carn Abella; Rory Tolentino; Bai Bagasao; Caloy
Calica, et al) on 18 April 1994

3. Set up and operate social enterprise ventures that will generate
resources to build on and sustain the gains of PHANSuP over the
past 17 years.
4. Establish strategic partnerships to pursue common goals and
objectives in the health and development sector.
5. Communicate effectively PHANSuP's advocacies including the
