3. WHAT IS PLANNING?
Planning is the ability to visualize into
the future.
Underwood (1987)
Described lesson plan as a “scheme of work” or
“a map” which indicates to the teacher the
work that has to be covered.
Goal of planning
Should always be student learning!!!
9. Phases of
planning
The teacher of English is a language model, a language
resource and a good role model.
Displayed at least three major phases in the planning and
development of a lesson
Presentation: This phase occurs a meeting with his
tongue, knowledge clarification and motivates students to
new learning.
Practice: in this phase is evoked the memory of new
knowledge, in order to achieve the internalization of
these.
The use or production: this phase is the most important
because it gives students the opportunity to use language
to achieve communicative fluency.
A fourth phase, called consolidation may occur in some
of the lessons. At this time, students can demonstrate, at
the end of the unit, they are able.
