Water is an interesting subject for photography for several reasons. It takes the shape of its container and is pleasing to watch as it moves in splashes, ripples, or drizzles. Water also acts as a reflective surface, allowing photographers to capture mountains, skies, or animals reflected in lakes or ponds. The unique ability of water to enhance its surroundings adds a rustic feel to photographs. Water lends itself to imaginative possibilities in many forms like ice, snow, clouds, and steam.

Water is special in that it takes the shape of
whatever container or receptacle is holding it.
Itâs quite pleasing to the eyes when water takes
shape and claims a renewed identity of its
own.Â
It is also quite challenging to capture water in
action. A lot of postcard worthy shots of water
are those that show it as it moves. Whether itâs
a splash, a ripple, or a drizzle, moving water
successfully inspires a sense of freedom.
3. BEHANCE Water is also re ective, which the
photographer makes sure to capitalize on. For
instance, it provides a really exquisite backdrop
when it is used as a scenic shot that shows the
mountains and the sky as they re ect on a lake.
Even a still pond is a good re ector, which adds
a fresh dimension to lilies, or even small
animals like frogs.
Water has the unique ability to enhance the
image of whatever it surrounds. It adds a very
rustic feel to the space occupied by the
photographerâs picture.Â
Water, in its other forms, is the theme of many
well-loved photographs. Just think of the many
wonderfully composed images that feature ice,
snow, clouds, and even steam. Water is a very
nice subject to focus on because, with it, the
possibilities of the imagination are endless.
