1. ANISOMETROPIA

2. INTRODUCTION
 the optical state with equal refraction in the two eye
is termed isometropia
 Anisometropia is the condition in which the two
eyes have unequal refractive power

3. AETIOLOGY -
 Congenital and development anisometropia
 Acquired anisometropia – may occur under the
following
 Trauma of the eye
 Keratoplasty in one eye
 Asymmetric age changes
 Uniocular aphekia after remove of cataractous lens

4. CLINICAL TYPE
1. Simple anisometropia
2. Compound anisometropia
3. Mixed anisometropia
4. Simple astigmatism anisometropia
5. Compound astigmatism anisometropia
6. Mixed astigmatism anisometropia

5. Simple Anisometropia – one eye normal and
other eye myopic and hypermetropia

6. Compound anisometropia – both eye are either
hypermetropic or myopic ,but one is having higher
refractive power

7. Mixed Anisometropia – one eye is myopic and the
other eye is hypermetropic ,it is also called
antimetropia
ONE EYE OTHER EYE

8. Simple Astigmatism Anisometropia – one eye is
normal and other has either simple myopic or
hypermetropic astigmatism

9. Compound Astigmatism - when both eyes has
astigmatic but if unequal degree

10. Mixed Astigmatism Anisometropia – One eyes
has hypermetropic astigmatism and the other eye
has myopic astigmatism

11. SYMPTOMS
 Eyestrain
 Headaches
 Nausea
 Light sensitivity
 Tiredness
 Dizziness
 Diplopia

 Retinoscopy examination
 Testing for state binocular vision
 Frined test
 Worth’s four-dot test
