Theory of Machine Theory of Machines may be defined as that branch of engineering science which deals with the study of relative motion between various elements of a machine and the forces which act on them. Theory of machine, Engineering science का एक बहोत हिं important subject है | जिसके अंतर्गत हम मशीन के वेरियस parts के बीच कि relative motion और force के बारे में जानकारी प्राप्त करते हैं | इस subject में हम मशीन की basic theory को समझते हैं कि मशीन को बनाने से पहले हमें किन-किन विशेष बातो का ध्यान रखना होता है, ताकि मशीन अच्छे से work करे | तो कुल मिलाकर बात यही है कि पहले हम मशीन कि theory को समझते हैं तब जाकर practical में मशीन को बना पाते हैं| क्योंकि कोई भी मशीन practical में बनने से पहले एक page पर बनता है जिसे डिजाईन बोला जाता है तो उस डिजाईन को बनाने में जिस rule और regulation का उपयोग किया जाता है वह हमें theory of machine देता है| अतः इसीलिए यह subject इंजीनियरिंग field में बहुत ज्यादा मायने रखता है |

functional motion.
🟀A mechanism is a device designed to transform input
forces and movement into a desired set of output forces
and movement.
🟀Mechanisms generally consist of moving components
such as gears and gear trains, belt and chain drives, cam
and follower mechanisms, and linkages as well as
friction devices such as brakes and clutches, and
structural components such as the frame, fasteners,
bearings, springs, lubricants and seals, as well as a
variety of specialized machine elements such as splines,
pins and keys.

(or) to do work, then it is known as machine.
• We can define machine as a device for
transferring and transforming motion and force

9. • It is a resistant body or assembly of resistant
body of a machine connecting other parts of
the machine with relative motion between
them.
• There are three types of links available in order
to transmit motion. They are as follows:

10. Rigid link
A rigid link is one which does not undergo any
deformation while transmitting motion. Practically rigid
link does not exists. Ex : crank shaft, piston etc.,
Flexible link
A flexible link is one which undergoes partial deformation
without affecting the transfer motion. Ex : ropes, belts,
chains, springs etc.,
Fluid link
A fluid link is a link which has fluid inside the container
and motion is transmitted through the fluid by pressure or
compression. Ex: fluids used in hydraulic press, hydraulic
jack, hydraulic crane etc.,
