WHO WOULD BE THE
AUDIENCE FOR YOUR
MEDIA PRODUCT?
Rahul Sohal
In the process of producing our film-opening, the group
researched into different themes, genres and what will be
appealing to the target audience. By gathering the data
from primary research it guided us narrowing down to the
action genre most appealing throughout different age
groups. So, in that prospective, as team the group
approached the film production stage, effectively with
intentions of raising questions within the audience and
arouse the curiosity of interests.
• Why we chose such an age group for our target
audience? During our research and planning stages we
learnt that most responses from our research
questionnaires methods were answered by the
teenage/young, middle-aged group. Although targeting
this age group it felt as if it needed to available and
enjoyable to those outside the age group. This lead to
being the appropriate balance to make to target our main
target audience whilst incorporating the ability in working
enjoyably with other target audiences.
• With belief, our film-opening works well with the set target
audience and the research and planning stages carried
out supports with valuable insight of the main appropriate
audience. We aspire that out film-opening would not only
attract those who are action film lovers but those who are
not quite the fan of action genre by presenting good
quality films.
• in conclusion to this question, we believe we have
produced a quality action film which was executed in a
sophisticated manner with acknowledgement of limitations
such as production equipment and suitable areas to shoot
the scenes. Overall, the group and I are pleased with the
outcome of the opening and achieving to have reach most
if not the whole of the target audience we chose.
