2. According to WHO health as “ state of complete
physical, mental and social well being and not merely
absence of disease”.
It’s overall objective is the attainment by all people of
the highest possible levels of health.
3. Health promotion is about providing services that
improve health of individual and communities finally
resulting in empowerment of them to so that they
have increased control over their own health.
4. Health promotion is based around the saying
“prevention is better than cure” and it aims at
preventing morbidity and mortality.

education, economic, political, spiritual or
organizational initiative designed to bring about
positive attitudinal, behavioral, social or environmental
changes conducive to improving the health of
populations.
