Once upon a time I was an idealistic researcher. My research was focused on detecting and and correcting design flaws. However, soon enough I discovered that the quality problems faced by the software industry are radically different from those that I used to deal with in my idealistic research environment: they are uglier, more complex, and amplified by uncountable technical and social constraints. Consequently, I have been working on creating inFusion, an industry-strength tool for assessing design quality that has been successfully used in several large-scale companies.
