Working Title:
Wicked games
Audience:
My audience is 15-25 as it is going to be set in college/school about a girl who is been followed it
will be a horror so I want the age to be 15+ as it might be inappropriate for anyone younger it is
unisex meaning either genders will be interested but maybe because its featuring a girl it might be
more toward the female gender. The psychographic of this would be the explorer as these people
are driven by a need for discovery and challenge and new frontiers. They are normally young in
nature and are often first to try new ideas and experiences. As mine is a horror film people that like
to go and try new things will most likely to want to go watch such a film.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
At the beginning of the course I found it quite challenging to get into a rhythm of getting things
done but as I've gone through two years of the course (lev2 lev3) I find that I do have a good
enough experience in this area as I've already done it. I know how to use a camera and set it up
onto a tripod, I also have used the adobe premiere software as I have used it for things like games
and film to edit music into the game or for the film to put things together and edit the film I also
used it for my radio project adding a title screen so I know I am confident with the whole process.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My short film will be a horror, the story will start off in college with Dan, Abbey and Emma walking
through college to get to Emma's lesson. In lesson, she hears a knock on the door and goes to the
door. She sees a piece of paper on the floor that states time is running out. She ignores it and puts
it in the bin. On her break, she goes to the toilet and is greeted by an evil reflection in the mirror. It
cuts to a cliff-hanger where she is on the floor, leaving the audience to think if she is dead or has
been replaced by her evil self?
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
I plan to have the reflection the mirror move seperately compared to the real version of Emma. To
undertake this technique, I need to use a split screen and crop effect in premiere. This needs to be
filmed on a tripod.
I will colour correct and grade my film to give it dark colours, to create a sense of horror. I will also
make the mirror darker.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work on a weekly basis, reflecting on my progress of specific techniques I
undertake. I will also evaluate it at the end, discussing technical and aesthetic considerations to
improve my work for future.
