Proposal for magazine

1. PROPOSAL

2. TITLE
• I will be producing a magazine for white British females aged between 16 and 17. I have
desides to call this magazine pink is punk as it relates to my target audience. The colour pink
is stereotypically a girly colour that has connotations of being sweet and gentle were as the
word punk implies something violent and unusual. Saying one is same as the other shows
how girls can be both girly and bold. It also shows that women are equal these days as rock is
normal seen as man dominated. This would appeal to teenage girls as they have grown up
surrounded by third wave feminism.

3. GENRE
• I chose to make a rock magazine as it is a genre I am formula with and I have some prior
knowledge of its sterotypes and artists. Also there are very little rock magazines targets at
females. So making one would be unique and will mean I have lest competition. This means
my product is more likely to sell well. I also chose it as it has a lot of subgenres so I have a lot
more ideas and stiles that I can work with and include in my final peace.

5. INITIAL IDEAS : FRONT COVER
• Storage contaior background with the model on leaning against the front left side with a microphone in
her hands, her arms will be folded to show the moody attitude most rock stars have.
• She will not be smiling and she will have red lipstick, that I will match the cover lines too
• The shot of the model will be a mid shot

6. INITIAL IDEAS: CONTENTS PAGE
• White background with red picture borders and black title.
• 2 small pictures and one large picture of main story
• Page numbers running down the side and editorial it top right hand corner.

7. INITIAL IDEAS: DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
• Large image of model on the right page.
• black text but key words and title done in red or pink
• Splatters of paint around the title to make it stand out.
