2. Clothing
Stereotypically indie rock band members would dress to be
different due to indie rock being a genre that comes from
alternative rock where band members and fans of the genre
would want to stand out from the norm.
As our band consists of all males and are a young indie
group, they will most probably wear baggy shirts and
ripped jeans to give a more casual and careless appearance,
they will also most likely wear dark colours or stick to a
predominantly black and white colour scheme.
3. Location
The locations we have chosen to suit our genre are very
urban settings for example: a roof top and skate park. The
urban nature of the locations suits our genre as they are
often places where young groups of teenagers may be seen
and gives the impression of youth and being up to no good.
4. Instruments
There is a representation within the types of instruments
that bands use in the indie rock genre. All the musicians
within the genre use live instruments as they create a more
raw sound, therefore we chose similar instruments for our
band. In a typical band there would be; lead vocals, lead
guitarist, Bassist, drummer, and sometimes pianist, which is
exactly what we have chosen to use in our band besides the
pianist. The style of guitar and bass that may be typically
used would be vintage styled which would have been
previously used but are worth a lot of money, mostly from
the 1960s era.
5. Product placement
In our music video we have
planned to use the product
placement of a coke can. We chose
to use this as our music genre and
the brand Coke both appeal to a
similar young audience and
therefore our audience would be
able to recognise the coke can.
However we also planned on
having our lead singer from the
band kick the coke can out of the
shot, symbolising rebellion and
mischief.
