1. Q2 - How does your
media product
represent particular
social groups?
2. Youth
Youth is represented in my Product (magazine)
because it is colourful and vibrant, not dull with lots
of writing like an ageing populations magazine would
be like. It has very bright colours on it which makes it
stand out with lots of text that pop out when you
look at it. It also has a young female on the front of
the magazine which makes it more appealing to
younger generations as they will recognise the
person and feel more combatable reading something
they know and what to know more about.
3. Female & Male
My magazine appeals to both female and males, this is
because there is music from both female and male
artists. Which means there is music for everyone
including both genders. I would say that the magazine
is more aimed at female though, as the cover girl is
female and there the colour scheme is fairly feminine.
I would argue that purple is a colour that both male
and female like though, for example its not pink or
blue.
4. Mood & Main Image
The mood of my product (magazine) is happy, you
can tell this from looking at the colour scheme and
the main image on the front. The colour scheme is a
bright colour not black which could be associated
with rock music, mine is pop and main stream music
therefore purple goes well. Also the picture portrays
a happy vibe as she is smiling and warming open
body language, not doing anything crazy like
smashing up a guitar. She also has minable makeup
on, this shows she is a good role model for younger
readers as she isn't swearing or got lots of heavy eye
make up on.
