2. Online
Many courses are entirely Web-based and use the
Internet for communication, course centered research,
and information resources. Students who don’t have
access to the Internet from home can participate from
the computer lab at their local University College Center
or site. Some of these
courses may require
a computer with
specific multimedia
capabilities.

3. IT V
Interactive Television (IT V ) courses are broadcast
live by faculty from university campuses to
University College Centers and sites across
Maine. Students view the class on T V monitors
and interact with
the instructor and
other students
using a toll-
free classroom
telephone.
4. IT V - Videostreaming
Many IT V courses are recorded in a live on-
campus classroom and later digitized and made
available for students on
the Internet. The professor
may grant students anytime
access to the lectures
or choose to make them
available only at centers.
5. Videoconferencing
Videoconference ( VC) courses offer two-
way video interactions. Available on the
University of Maine System campuses,
most UC Centers, Lewiston/Auburn College,
University
College of
Bangor, and
the Hutchinson
Center in
Belfast.
