Scenario #2 ,[object Object],[object Object],They don’t have the proper equipment to do the job, so we should provide the tools or equipment needed. This also may extend to crafting the environment (e.g. safe, conducive workspaces, addressing student physical needs).

Scenario #3 ,[object Object],There is no incentive to participate since everyone is busy. Tailor appropriate incentives to the situation (equipment, travel, meeting).

Scenario #4 ,[object Object],The students lack the education or training to correctly use a computer to word process. Developing instruction using a systematic ID process would be a logical solution to this problem.

Scenario #5 ,[object Object],He doesn’t have the innate ability (this is different from skills) to do the job. This can be potentially controversial in our “everyone can succeed” society. The solution is to find the individual a better fit.

Scenario #6 ,[object Object],They just don’t seem to care whether the job gets done or not. Motivation is hard to change and is generally not addressed by ID. The solution may be to look at how culture or environmental changes may help. Also try mentoring programs, or possible training programs for supervisors/teachers in motivational techniques.
