Ontologisms have been applied to many applications in recent years, especially on Sematic Web, Information Retrieval, Information Extraction, and Question and Answer. The purpose of domain-specific ontology is to get rid of conceptual and terminological confusion. It accomplishes this by specifying a set of generic concepts that characterizes the domain as well as their definitions and interrelationships. This paper will describe some algorithms for identifying semantic relations and constructing an Information Technology Ontology, while extracting the concepts and objects from different sources. The Ontology is constructed based on three main resources: ACM, Wikipedia and unstructured files from ACM Digital Library. Our algorithms are combined of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. We use Natural Language Processing tools, such as OpenNLP, Stanford Lexical Dependency Parser in order to explore sentences. We then extract these sentences based on English pattern in order to build training set. We use a random sample among 245 categories of ACM to evaluate our results. Results generated show that our system yields superior performance.

Traffic analysis is a process of great importance, when it comes in securing a network. This analysis can be classified in different levels and one of most interest is Deep Packet Inspection (DPI). DPI is a very effective way of monitoring the network, since it performs traffic control over mostly of the OSI model’s layers (from L3 to L7). Regular Expressions (RegExp) on the other hand is used in computer science and can make use of a group of characters, in order to create a searching pattern. This technique can be combined with a series of mathematical algorithms for helping the individual to quickly find out the search pattern within a text and even replace it with another value. In this paper, we aim to prove that the use of Regular Expressions is much more productive and effective when used for creating matching rules needed in DPI. We design, test and put into comparison Regular Expression rules and compare it against the conventional methods. In addition to the above, we have created a case study of detecting EternalBlue and DoublePulsar threats, in order to point out the practical and realistic value of our proposal.

Privacy Preserving Record Linkage (PPRL) is a major area of database research which entangles in colluding huge multiple heterogeneous data sets with disjunctive or additional information about an entity while veiling its private information. This paper gives an enhanced algorithm for merging two datasets using Sorted Neighborhood Deterministic approach and an improved Preservation algorithm which makes use of automatic selection of sensitive attributes and pattern mining over dynamic queries. We guarantee strong privacy, less computational complexity and scalability and address the legitimate concerns over data security and privacy with our approach.

Due to the increasing amount and complexity of digital resources, there are several critical issues that arise in digital environments such as ill-structured and poor management of digital information. Different information organization approaches have been used to address these issues. In particular, Semantic Web has been explored for 10 years; however there are not many practical applications. This is in part due to the fact that much attention has been given to the creation rather than the migration of existing data. In addition, the lack of guidelines for choosing the right migration approach, whether Topic Maps or Resource Description Framework (RDF), needs to be addressed. This paper presents a comparison of Semantic Web Data Models (Topic Maps and RDF), followed by an example of migration of existing metadata into ontology-based data for Semantic Web.

Semantic similarity and semantic relatedness measure in particular is very important in the current scenario due to the huge demand for natural language processing based applications such as chatbots and information retrieval systems such as knowledge base based FAQ systems. Current approaches generally use similarity measures which does not use the context sensitive relationships between the words. This leads to erroneous similarity predictions and is not of much use in real life applications. This work proposes a novel approach that gives an accurate relatedness measure of any two words in a sentence by taking their context into consideration. This context correction results in a more accurate similarity prediction which results in higher accuracy of information retrieval systems.

The presentation explores the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) from its inception to its current status in the modern world. The term "artificial intelligence" was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 to describe efforts to develop computer programs capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. This concept was first introduced at a conference held at Dartmouth College, where programs demonstrated capabilities such as playing chess, proving theorems, and interpreting texts. In the early stages, Alan Turing contributed to the field by defining intelligence as the ability of a being to respond to certain questions intelligently, proposing what is now known as the Turing Test to evaluate the presence of intelligent behavior in machines. As the decades progressed, AI evolved significantly. The 1980s focused on machine learning, teaching computers to learn from data, leading to the development of models that could improve their performance based on their experiences. The 1990s and 2000s saw further advances in algorithms and computational power, which allowed for more sophisticated data analysis techniques, including data mining. By the 2010s, the proliferation of big data and the refinement of deep learning techniques enabled AI to become mainstream. Notable milestones included the success of Google's AlphaGo and advancements in autonomous vehicles by companies like Tesla and Waymo. A major theme of the presentation is the application of generative AI, which has been used for tasks such as natural language text generation, translation, and question answering. Generative AI uses large datasets to train models that can then produce new, coherent pieces of text or other media. The presentation also discusses the ethical implications and the need for regulation in AI, highlighting issues such as privacy, bias, and the potential for misuse. These concerns have prompted calls for comprehensive regulations to ensure the safe and equitable use of AI technologies. Artificial intelligence has also played a significant role in healthcare, particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it was used in drug discovery, vaccine development, and analyzing the spread of the virus. The presentation explores the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) from its inception to its current status in the modern world. The term "artificial intelligence" was first coined by John McCarthy in 1956 to describe efforts to develop computer programs capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. This concept was first introduced at a conference held at Dartmouth College, where programs demonstrated capabilities such as playing chess, proving theorems, and interpreting texts. In the early stages, Alan Turing contributed to the field by defining intelligence as the ability of a being to respond to certain questions intelligently, proposing what is now known as the Turing Test to evaluate the presence of intelligent behavior in machines. As the decades progressed, AI evolved significantly. The 1980s focused on machine learning, teaching computers to learn from data, leading to the development of models that could improve their performance based on their experiences. The 1990s and 2000s saw further advances in algorithms and computational power, which allowed for more sophisticated data analysis techniques, including data mining. By the 2010s, the proliferation of big data and the refinement of deep learning techniques enabled AI to become mainstream. Notable milestones included the success of Google's AlphaGo and advancements in autonomous vehicles by companies like Tesla and Waymo. A major theme of the presentation is the application of generative AI, which has been used for tasks such as natural language text generation, translation, and question answering. Generative AI uses large datasets to train models that can then produce new, coherent pieces of text or other media. The presentation also discusses the ethical implications and the need for regulation in AI, highlighting issues such as privacy, bias, and the potential for misuse. These concerns have prompted calls for comprehensive regulations to ensure the safe and equitable use of AI technologies. Artificial intelligence has also played a significant role in healthcare, particularly highlighted during the COVID-19 pandemic, where it was used in drug discovery, vaccine development, and analyzing the spread of the virus. The capabilities of AI in healthcare are vast, ranging from medical diagnostics to personalized medicine, demonstrating the technology's potential to revolutionize fields beyond just technical or consumer applications. In conclusion, AI continues to be a rapidly evolving field with significant implications for various aspects of society. The development from theoretical concepts to real-world applications illustrates both the potential benefits and the challenges that come with integrating advanced technologies into everyday life. The ongoing discussion about AI ethics and regulation underscores the importance of managing these technologies responsibly to maximize their their benefits while minimizing potential harms.
