51. Protein Synthesis Summary
First, during Transcription, RNA polymerase
unwinds the DNA double helix. The code for
DNA is read and transferred to the mRNA strand.
Then, during translation, mRNA comes in
contact with ribosomes. The mRNA sequence is
converted into an Amino Acid sequence. Every
three nucleotides codes for one amino acid, or
codons. tRNA is the carrier molecule for the
amino acids.
