6. Telecentre Futuro – Pilot Phase
• The pilot phase of the project will be carried out in Latin
America and the Caribbean (LAC), as well as Spain, and
will focus on adults, youth and rural women without
excluding other demographic groups
• A global call for proposal to enrich and strengthen the
Telecentre Futuro initiative will be added during the
expansion phase

7. Telecentros Futuro : Call for global proposals
• Proposal must follow criteria included in the global call.
However, new approaches are welcome as long as they
follow Telecentre.org framework.
• New concepts on how to enhance training, employment
and innovation within telecentres will have special value.
• When submitting a proposal it is important to take in
consideration gender equality, a wide range of target
groups and geographical diversity. Telecentre Futuro seeks
to reach cultural diversity and multiple socio-economics
realities.

8. • Each proposal must include a multi-year economic and
social sustainability plan.
• Development of new content, projects, online tools, and
strategic partnership. All best practices will be shared
throughout Telecentre Futuro’s global network.
• Promotion and communications: each proposal must
have its own and unique plan, in order to secure and
expand the impacts of each project.

9. • Telecentre Futuro’s Budget might vary from project
to project, or country to country. There is no limit to
the amount of investment for one or more Telecentre
Futuro hubs. However, each project must include a
long-term sustainability plan.
• Branding and co-branding. Each Telecentre Futuro
will follow a unique set of guidelines regarding
branding in co-branding for all collaterals, and online
materials included in this initiative.

10. Participation in Telecentro Futuro project, except for the ones
involved in the pilot, will not involve financial support from
Telecentre.org. Participants will benefit from:
• Active participation/contributions in communication plan.
• Full access to content testing of new technologies,
software, apps, online tools and other methodologies
included in the project.
• Become members of the Global Telecentre Futuro’s network.
• Support and contribution to the indicators of impacts
development, project monitoring and a global assessment
criteria.
• Special training for facilitators and managers of telecentres

11. • Telecentro Futuro initiative includes the establishment of
a Global Telecentre Lab, which would be responsible for
overseeing the overall management, testing, evaluation
and expansion of the model. At the same time the Global
Telecentre Lab will support the:
– Testing: new hadrware, software and apps,
– Testing new training methodologies, sustainability and
revitalization,
– Testing new strategies: gamification, Smarts Citizens,
Coworking ....
– Redesign of the new spaces, furniture ....

12. • The Global Telecentre Lab will be based in the city of
Barcelona, Spain and would be managed by the City of
Barcelona and the Government of Catalonia.
• The Global Telecentre Lab main goals would be to
facilitate the access and exchange of new ideas and
resources to empower the role of telecentres as
community hubs
