• Grounding - For continued protection against risk of electric shock and fire, this accessory should be
installed only to the products (such as, computer) equipped with a three-wire grounding plug, a plug having
a third (grounding) pin. This plug will only fit into a grounding-type power outlet. This is a safety feature. If
you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet, contact your electrician to replace the obsolete outlet. Do

• Openings in the TV Tuner cabinet are provided for ventilation. To prevent overheating, these openings
should not be blocked or covered. Avoid using the TV Tuner on a bed, sofa, rug, or other soft surface, as
doing so may block the ventilation openings in the cabinet. If you place the TV Tuner in a bookcase or an
enclosed space, be sure to provide adequate ventilation and air flow.
• Power Lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or
other light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits.
• Antenna Installation - When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep
it from touching such power lines or circuits, as contact with them may be fatal.
• Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna is connected to the product, be sure that the
antenna system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static
charges. Article 810.21 of the National Electric Code, ANSI/NFPA No.70, provides information with regard to
proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to the antenna
discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection of grounding
electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.
NOTE to CATV System Installer-This reminder is provided to call the CATV systems installer's attention to Section 820.93 of the National Electric
Code, ANSI/NFPA 70:2005 (for US/Canada) and/or EN60728-11:2005 standard (for Europe), which provide guidelines for proper grounding and, in
particular, specify that the Coaxial cable shield shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as
practical.

The Touch Button Panel found on the top side of the unit provides quick access to commonly used functions.

2.1 Making the Connections
The figure below shows the proper cable connections for installing AVerMedia TV Box and connecting it to your
audio/video equipment.

2.2 Running Initial Setup
The first time you power on the AVerTV MediaPort unit, it

to watch TV.

Different countries have different TV systems, for example, PAL-BG, PAL-DK, NTSC-M…etc. AVerTV Box functions
only with the TV system of the country it is manufactured for and originally distributed in. Make sure that you select
the correct country signal from the menu. To change the area setting, refer to SET AREA (page 11).
To ensure that you can select and watch all active channels, refer to section CH SCAN (page 10) on how to
automatically scan and memorize all active TV channels in your area. To access various TV controls, open up

The TV system of video output (PAL or NTSC) will be set automatically according to your region setting in the SET AREA.
Only digital TV and “Media Center” modes support video output.

If you want to adjust the picture quality, press the PICTURE button on the remote. Then, you can use the ▲ or ▼
buttons to select the items in the PICTURE menu; and the ◄ or ► buttons to make the adjustment.

2.8 Electronic Program Guide(EPG) (Digital TV only)
Electronic Program Guide (EPG) is a service that allows you to check the next succeeding program schedule and
even the program schedules of the whole week. Please be noted the EPG service depends on your regional channel
providers.

Press OK to call up the Quick Select menu. Switch between preset favorite channel list and
channel group (Favorite, News, Music,etc..). Press ◄/► to select a group type and press ▲/▼
to select a channel in the selected group. Use Channel Organizer (page 12) to set the favorite Favotrite
channel list or use Channel Grouping(page 13) to add a channel into a group.

you perform CH SCAN, use ALL FREQ SCAN function and repeat
the searching process.
ALL FREQ SCAN is a very time consuming process. If the default
frequency table already includes all active TV channels in your area,
then avoid using the ALL FREQ SCAN.

If the TV reception is not clear, choose CH FINE TUNE then press

The SLEEP MODE menu allows you to set the time interval for the TV
stand-by timer.
Press ▲ or▼ to select a time interval and then press ►/OK to confirm
your selection. AVerTV Mediaport will automatically go to stand-by mode
when it has been left idle for the specified interval time. (By default, the

configurations including “Channel Manager”, “Channel Setting”,
“Configuration”, “Output Setting” and “Reset to default”.

mode. Enable POWER SAVING function will also turn off the device
automatically for power saving after 3-hour idle time.
If you enable the POWER SAVING function, it may spend more time to
turn on the device.
SLEEP MODE
The SLEEP MODE allows you to set the time interval for the TV’s stand-by
timer.
Press ◄ or ► to select a time interval then press OK to confirm your
selection. AVerTV Mediaport will automatically switch to stand-by mode
when it has been left idle for the specified time interval. (By default, the timer

Chapter 4 Using the Media Center
Through the Media Center of AVerTV MediaPort, you can play multimedia file and play game. Press the
button to enter the Media Center. Before enter the submenu, insert the externeal storage device first
(USB 2.0 storage or SD/MMC/MS card). Only FAT/FAT32 file system is available. AVerTV Mediaport
supports below media format:
