2. Overview
The entire play takes place in one
location: the restaurant.
The play takes place in early March,
during a snowstorm.
The entire place takes place over 4
hours.
3. Theatre Space
The stage will be a Proscenium Stage.
We chose this type of stage because its usually has the most space out of
all the stage types, as such its also a lot easier for the stage hands to move
props around and its easier for the actors to move in and out of scenes.
4. Design Choices
The colorfulness of the
set is to create a light
and happy mood for
the audience.
The set will have an
retro/vintage design.
The set will have a
realistic design.
The set should also feel
small to reflect the rustic
feel of the restaurant.
6. Floor plan details
The window should be dark to show the time of
day, at the last act the window should be light to
show sunrise.
There should be a sign on the back door that
differentiated it from the door to grace’s
apartment.
There are four chairs around each table, there
should also be three or four stools at the counter
area.
7. The Set
Tables and seats, similar to
these but not as shiny. There
should be napkins dispenser
and salt and pepper containers
on both tables
Diner Counter and stools
should look similar to this.
Against the wall there
should be a variety of
appliances.
8. The Set
There should be a small Bookshelf
with some books and magazines on
it. There also needs to be a copy
of Romeo and Juliet in the
bookshelf.
The sofa should be big enough
for a person to lay on.
Note: props don’t have to be exactly the same
9. Props
There should be a
variety of colorful
decorations on the
wall above the sofa
and bookshelf.
There can also be a
juke box so the set
can have a more
vintage feel to it.
(Decorations similar to the ones on this wall)
