2. O I would like to tell you about a
famous football player Alexander
Filimonov. He was born on October
15th in 1973 in Yoshkar-Ola. His
father was a football player and
Alexander was also fond of this kind
of sport. He spent much time
playing football with his friends. No
wonder the boy nursed his dream of
being a football goal-keeper like his
father.

3. O In 1990 Alexander finished
football school “Bureveshik” in
Yoshkar-Ola and started
playing for the local football
club “Druzba”. He became the
main goal-keeper of this club
and even scored his only goal
in his football career.

4. O Now Alexander Filimonov is a
six-time champion of Russia
and a cup winner of Russia. He
was the best Russian goalkeeper in 1998, a super cup
winner in beach football in
2011. He was also a world
champion in beach football in
2011.

5. O Our countryman has played in a league
for such teams as Moscow Spartak, Kiev
Dinamo, Locomotive, Arsenal and others.
He took part in 294 football matches.
Nowadays Alexander Filimonov plays
beach football for the Russian Federation.
Our team has achieved good results in it.

6. O I think that Alexander Filimonov
is one of the best football
players of Russia and we can
be proud of our countryman!
