There are many good
sportsmen in Russia.
But I am especially
proud of the one from
my homeland Voskresensky District.
This man is a famous
hockey player Igor
Larionov.

At the age of 17 he starts
his career in
Voskresensky hockey
club “Khimik” in 1977.

In 1980s Igor Larionov was a participant of a
unit of players for the Soviet national hockey
team with Viacheslav Fetisov, Alexei
Kasatonov, Sergei Makarov and Vladimir
Krutov. They were known as Green Unit (for
wearing green jerseys in practice).

In 2008 Igor was
inducted into Hockey
Hall of Fame.
He is also a member of Triple Gold Club – the
group of players who won World Championship,
Stanley Cup and Olympic games.
