figures for the last 15 years was 2.5 million tons/annum.
• Productivity is very poor in animals producing about 987
kg/lactation against 208kg/lactation as world average.
• India to face shortage of milk in relation to procurement,
process and marketing milk along with expansion of dairy
plants to supply good quality of milk to consumers.
