                                                                    wide range of applications
                                                                    The SST-600 is a single-casing steam turbine,
                                                                    designed for operation with speed ranging
                                                                    from 3,000 to 15,000 rpm for generator or
                                                                    mechanical drive up to 100 MW. It covers
                                                                    industrial applications such as:
                                                                      Compressor drive
                                                                      Generator drive
                                                                      Boiler feed water pump drive
                                                                    for chemical and petrochemical industry,
                                                                    pulp and paper mills, steel works, mines,
                                                                    or in power plants, seawater desalination
                                                                    plants, solar thermal power plants, and
                                                                    waste-to-energy, e.g. waste incinerators.

Design features

          The SST-600 single-casing steam turbine is used for both condensing and back-pressure applications, either
          geared or directly coupled. Turbine design is in accordance with DIN or API standards. The turbine is built up
          from pre-designed modules combined to a single unit for optimum matching of the required parameters.


                                                                              The SST-600 turbine can be equipped with impulse
                                                                              control stage and reaction blading fixed in blade carriers.
                                                                              Steam is led into the turbine by one or two emergency
                                                                              stop valves, which, together with the control valve chest,
                                                                              form an integral part of the turbine casing.
                                                                              The intermediate section of the turbine can be equipped
                                                                              with one or two internally controlled extractions and
                                                                              number of bleeds as required. The exhaust section is
                                                                              prepared for axial, downward or upward connection for
                                                                              condensing, while for back-pressure application upward
                                                                              or downward connection is provided.
                                                                              The casing is supported by a front bearing pedestal to
                                                                              absorb axial movements and a fixed rear bearing pedes-
                                                                              tal. Bearing pedestals are fixed on the base frame or
                                                                              directly anchored to a concrete foundation. Turbine
                                                                              auxiliary systems are also pre-designed into modules
                                                                              covering the complete range of turbine sizes.

                                                                              Operational flexibility
                                                                              The turbine concept together with its modular configu-
                                                                              ration ensures high stress absorption during turbine
                                                                              operation whilst maintaining high flexibility in design.
                                                                              The design with outer casing or the combination of the
                                                                              inner and outer casing substantially reduces thermal
                                                                              and pressure stress. Together with the unique bearing
                                                                              pedestal design and its arrangement, this improves the
                                                                              operational stability and reliability of the turbine.

Easy installation and maintenance

Mounting the turbine on a separate base frame or on the common frame with gearbox enables easy transportation
and installation of the turbine at site.

The core turbine arrives ready assembled together with the
electrical installation, which substantially shortens the time
needed for fitting on the foundations as well as connection of
the turbine’s I&C systems into the plant circuit. Features such
as a horizontal casing split, independently accessible bearings
etc. ensure easy and rapid maintenance. Additionally, the guide
blade carriers enable easy maintainability or further modifica-
tions of the steam path.

SST-600 Industrial Steam Turbines Up to 100 MW Whether you need power generation for independent power production or for any industrial application, the SST-600 offers you the flexibility, reliability and economy of operation you demand. The SST-600 range: proven design for a wide range of applications The SST-600 is a single-casing steam turbine, designed for operation with speed ranging from 3,000 to 15,000 rpm for generator or mechanical drive up to 100 MW. It covers industrial applications such as: Compressor drive Generator drive Boiler feed water pump drive for chemical and petrochemical industry, pulp and paper mills, steel works, mines, or in power plants, seawater desalination plants, solar thermal power plants, and waste-to-energy, e.g. waste incinerators.   • 2. Design features The SST-600 single-casing steam turbine is used for both condensing and back-pressure applications, either geared or directly coupled. Turbine design is in accordance with DIN or API standards. The turbine is built up from pre-designed modules combined to a single unit for optimum matching of the required parameters. The SST-600 turbine can be equipped with impulse control stage and reaction blading fixed in blade carriers. Steam is led into the turbine by one or two emergency stop valves, which, together with the control valve chest, form an integral part of the turbine casing. The intermediate section of the turbine can be equipped with one or two internally controlled extractions and number of bleeds as required. The exhaust section is prepared for axial, downward or upward connection for condensing, while for back-pressure application upward or downward connection is provided. The casing is supported by a front bearing pedestal to absorb axial movements and a fixed rear bearing pedes- tal. Bearing pedestals are fixed on the base frame or directly anchored to a concrete foundation. Turbine auxiliary systems are also pre-designed into modules covering the complete range of turbine sizes. Operational flexibility The turbine concept together with its modular configu- ration ensures high stress absorption during turbine operation whilst maintaining high flexibility in design. The design with outer casing or the combination of the inner and outer casing substantially reduces thermal and pressure stress. Together with the unique bearing pedestal design and its arrangement, this improves the operational stability and reliability of the turbine.
