1. How to Configure Citrix
XenApp 6.5 on Windows
Server 2008 R2

2. 1. To start with open XenApp Server Role Manager by clicking on Start, click All Programs,
click Citrix, click XenApp Server Role Manager.

3. 2. On the Role Manager page, click Configure under License Server.

4. 3. On the License Server Configuration page, define admin password, click Ok.

5. 4. After License Server is configured, click Specify Licensing.

6. 5. On Enter License Server Information page, type License Server name.
Click Test Connection to verify if connection is working fine or not, click Next.

7. 6.On the License Configuration page, select the XenApp, XenDesktop concurrent system
or XenDesktop user/device. In this example we’ll select XenApp, click Apply.

8. 7. Once the License Specified configuration is completed, click on Configure to
configure Citrix XenApp.

9. 8. On the XenApp Server Configuration page, select Create a new server farm.
It will initiate the process of creating new farm.

10. 9. Specify Farm name and First Citrix admistrator account. You can create another service
account to be used as First Citrix Administrator. In this example we have used
Prohutadministrator as the Citrix Administrator.

11. 10. On the Choose a database for the new server farm, click Existing Microsoft SQL
Server database. For this lab, we have already created one Database on SQL Server. Click
Next.

12. 11. Type Database Server name and the name of the Database which is already
created on the Database Server. Click Next.

13. 12. Enter the Database credentials and test database connection, click Next.

14. 13. On the Configuring Shadowing page, select Allow Shadowing of user session
on this Server, click Next.

15. 14. On the Specify advanced server settings page, click Next.

16. 15. On the Ready to configure page, click Apply.

17. 16. Click Finish to finish the Configuration of Citrix XenApp 6.5. Reboot is required before
you start publishing application on Citrix Server.
