INTRODUCTION 
 The story of a group of fishmongers from the Pick Place 
Fish market in Seattle 
 The story of these fishmongers was told in the book 
FISH! 
 The principles for a great life at work are 
- “PLAY” 
- “MAKE THEIR DAY” 
- “BE THERE” 
- “CHOOSE YOUR ATTITUDE”
 These principles are a part of the Fish! Philosophy 
 The book holds a core message - 
“A richer and more rewarding life may simply be a few 
choices away 
from where you are.” 
 The first four section in this book features a real life story 
that highlights 
all the four Fish! Principles 
 The book also contains several short stories called 
SMALL BITES
 Play is not just an activity; it is a state of mind that 
brings new energy and sparks creativity. 
 Work made fun usually gets done. 
 Staying connected with each other. 
 Playing with a purpose.
 Giving people a choice not to play. 
 Creating ownership, stimulating energy. 
 Having a good time is healthy. Work becomes a 
reward not just a way to reward. 
 It is important to have fun in a respected manner .

 Selling what a customer needs. 
 Making a difference.

a customers remember their

 Including customers in the fun part. 
 Be caring towards each other 
 Do a little extra for one person

 Treat people the way you

 Always be ready to help a 
co-worker 
 Fleecing the customer
 You can multi task with ‘stuff’, but you 
need to “be there” for people. 
 Be there years be fully present when you 
are interacting with another person. 
 Sprawling the joy 
 Customer want full attention when you 
are with there.

1-call a meeting & speak from the heart. 
2-Find a message that communicates the notion of 
choosing your attitude in a way that everyone will 
understand & personalize

• Authors never gave way to implement ideas. 
• What will it take to be successful-not explained. 
• Key point author have neglected to mention in 
the book:- 
1-Employees must trust the management 
2-Top management must be fully committed & practice 
what they preach 
3-Importance of the term ”Social Capital”
Our concluding thought 
• A brief,simple but elegant book. 
• An “Eye opener”for the people who believe-work 
is serious,lets have no fooling around. 
• It’s a book-not just about business-but about 
LIFE 
• Its conveys four most powerful principles 
- The bedrock of a successful company 
• We command the author on conveying this to 
the reader
