2. Company Overview
Six BSBA students decided to be partners and put up a small
business to have funds that can aid in their financial needs for their
studies. They agreed to make sugary products like pastillas, polvoron
and graham balls because these foods are easy to make and only need
a little amount of capital. Since they all love to eat sweet delicacies,
the name Dulce Love Ltd. (DL) was created as the business’ name.
Dulce – a Spanish word for sweets; Love – for they all love sweets; and
Ltd. (limited) – because it will be a limited partnership. It is located at
Novaliches, Quezon City.
Dulce Love’s purpose are to establish a business that will cater
to people who love sweet delicacies; to produce sweet delicacies that
are healthy and affordable; and to produce a variety of sweet
delicacies on which the customers could choose from.
3. DL’s vision is: “Dulce Love Ltd. envisions itself on becoming the
top producer of sweet delicacies in Quezon City and introducing new
range of products which are made from the finest and highest quality
of ingredients that will cater on the needs and wants of customers on
sweet delicacies.”
Its mission is: “Dulce Love Ltd. commits itself on providing
consumers a variety of sweet delicacies with various flavors to choose
from that are made from quality ingredients and ensures to give the
customers products that are delicious and healthy at a reasonable and
affordable price.”
Every time a customer opens and eat a pack of DL sweets, he
will surely enjoy every bits of it. That’s how the business’ tagline
“Delight in Every Bite” relates on the pleasure that its customer could
get from a bite of DL products.
4. Business Concept Overview
Dulce Love Ltd. offers three (3) kinds of sweet
delicacies – Pastillas, Graham Balls and Polvoron – and each
product comes in different flavors and packaging. Pastillas
is made up of powdered milk, condensed milk and
granulated sugar. It can be molded into different shapes
and sizes, and wrapped in cellophane. Its flavors are
Creamy Pastillas and Ube Pastillas. Graham Balls are
sweet snacks consisting of crushed graham crackers,
condensed milk and evaporated milk filled with
marsh mallow. It has two flavors – Classic and Cookie
Cream Ball – and these are put in small paper cups.
Polvoron is made up of toasted flour, powdered milk, sugar
and butter. It is in a round shape, packed in cellophane and
comes in two variants, the Classic Polvoron and Cookies n’
Cream Polvoron.
These delicacies are easy to make and the
ingredients are already available in nearby markets. These
are also already a part of Filipino culture, most commonly
as pasalubong to their friends or love ones.
5. Target Market
Dulce Love’s initial target customers are students,
teachers and school staffs of any age and gender. These people
are prone to strain and fatigue so they need stress-relievers and
one way to ease stress is to eat. And DL’s products could be a
comfort food that they can enjoy while relaxing. Not only that, it
can also help in stimulating their tired mind and body since
sugary products are known as good energizer.
6. Value Proposition
Consumers buy products not only because of
its affordability but also for the benefits that they
could get from it. DL’s sweet delicacies are not only
for pasalubong but also a great source of nutrients.
Its products’ main ingredient, milk, is a source of
calcium that can help in making the consumers’
bones strong and body healthy. Sugar, which is also a
main ingredient in making these products makes
people persevere longer and keeps them focused
based on studies.
7. DL’s competitors also offers the same
products but the difference is the customize ordering.
Customers could request for a customized design
based on their specifications. It is great for special
occasions like birthdays, Christmas party and
Valentines’ day. Another good thing about this is the
mode of payment. They could pay it in installment,
half of the price upon order and the other half upon
receiving the product. And the best deal, it gives
freebies and promos to those who will order a
customized DL product.
Competition is inevitable and an integral part
of doing business. But DL’s way of attending to the
needs of its customers is one way of ensuring that the
business will stay on track and continue being
patronized by consumers.
8. Revenue Model
The use of different marketing tools and strategies and the
right location are ways of ensuring that a business will be known and
become profitable. Dulce Love way of introducing its products is by
word-of-mouth and use of other promotional tools. Telling and
recommending something to a friend or someone you know about a
great food is proven to be a good way of promoting a product to
others. Use of posters and flyers is also one way to advertise especially
when these are posted on a place where people can easily see it.
Location of a business should be placed where it could be easily
located and many people are passing or coming by. And be sure also
that your target market are within that vicinity.
9. DL’s products have a potential to grow in the following
years since people always look for delicious yet affordable foods
and it’s great for any occasion. Its products will also stay at a low
cost since the ingredients and materials needed on making these
could be easily purchased on nearby market thus allowing a
margin that will not be a burden to the consumers.
10. The Team
Filipinos are known to have sweet tooth,
meaning that they like sweets like chocolates and
candies. But on today’s time where imported goods
and sweet products are prevailing, ordinary people
could not afford to buy these since it is costly. That’s
why Dulce Love Ltd.’s owners came up with an idea
of sweet delicacies that are tatak Pinoy which are
not just affordable but will surely suit the Filipinos’
typical taste for sweet foods.
11. DL products will not be possible without the
ingenuity of each member of the team: Princess Morales
& Marc Raymond – the finance managers who know well
of the proper management and allocation of the capital,
Manilyn Macario & Floralyn Buslon – the marketing
personnel who have the knowledge on the right marketing
strategy to be used in promoting and selling DL’s products,
and Anabelle Dupo & Josephine Abulencia – the product
innovators and makers who know the cheapest materials
and ingredients but with high quality to be used and how
the DL’s products could be innovated.
Teamwork, perseverance and an optimistic view in
life are what the Dulce Love Ltd.’s team believes in. A
business can’t be successful without the help and joint
effort of every person in it and the belief and continuing
support of it patrons.
