Yellowstone National Park was created in 1872 and is located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, making it the oldest national park in the world. It is home to many trees, animals like buffalo and bears, and geothermal features such as the famous Old Faithful Geyser.

national park in the world. The most popular attraction is
Old Faithful Geyser (a very high hot water spring). In the
park there are a lot of different kinds of trees and animals,
for example buffalo and bears. The most famous bear is
Yogi Bear.

2. THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge
located in California, linking San Francisco to Marin. It
is the most famous bridge in San Francisco although
it isn't the largest in this city, because the Bay Bridge
is the main road.
It was built in 1937. It is 1.280 meters long and it
is suspended from two towers of 227 meters.
The project cost more than $ 35 million. The chief
engineer of the project was Joseph Strauss. He also
supervised the daily construction and made some
innovative contributions.

3. THE WHITE HOUSE
The White House is the official residence and
principal workplace of the president of the United
States.
It was designed by George Washington in
1790, and it was constructed in 1792 by lrish
architect James Hoban.
It is located in Washington DC, on
Pennsylvania Avenue Nº 1600. Nowadays
visitors can take guided tours of the White House.
The most important room in the White House is
the Oval Office, where the president works.

4. THOMAS ALVA EDISON
Thomas Alva Edison was a businessman
and an American inventor who patented more
than a thousand inventions during his life. He
was born in 1847 in Ohio and he died at the
age of 84. He is known for inventing the light
bulb.

The Coca-Cola Museum is a museum of the most
famous drink in the world.
It was inaugurated in 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia .
Inside the museum you can see the history of that
famous drink, made of a secret formula .

Baseball is a national sport in the United States.
Imigrants took it to the USA in the 19th century.
Baseball is also very important in Canada, Latin America and Japan.
Baseball was played in England by the eighteen century.
Baseball is bat and ball sport played between two teams of nine players each.
The aim is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of
four bases arranged at the corners.
The goal or objective is to get a home run (to run to every base withort being caught
by the other team).
The most famous team is New York Yankees, Tigers of Detroit and many more.

7. ELVIS PRESLEY
Elvis Aaron Presley was one of the most popular
American singer of the 20th century . People often call
him the "King of Rock and Roll" or simply "the King".
He was born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935. He
began his career there in 1954, working with song
records. In 1973 Presley made the first concert
broadcast globally via satellite.
Some of his hits are: “Don´t be cruel”, “Jailhouse
Rock” or “Return to sender”.
Drug abuse damaged his health and he died
suddenly in 1977 at the age of 42.

8. THE MAYFLOWER
The Mayflower is the ship that carried the English Puritans
from England to America in 1620. They travelled to America to
escape religious persecution by the English king. They travelled
from Plymouth, England to Plymouth Rock in Massachusetts. There
they established the first English colony. The ship carried 102
pilgrims to liberty in America.

9. GRUNGE ROCK
Grunge is a subgenre of rock derived from the alternative rock, with
influences of hard rock, heavy metal and punk.
It emerged in the 80's, with groups mainly from Seattle.
It's characterized by heavily distorted guitars and energetic,
guttural vocal melodies, catchy and repetitive drums, with lyrics that
reflect apathy and disenchantment.
It was the most popular genre of hard rock of the time, but finally
ended losing popularity in the 90's.

Times Square is a street in Manhattan, New York.
Times Square is one of the most popular pictures in New York.
Until 1914 it was called “Lonacre Square”
