3. Facebook For Biz
Facebook is expected to exceed one billion
users by August 2012 thanks to countries such
as Brazil and India where Facebook use is
rapidly increasing. Remarkably, more than 50
percent of users log in daily.
If you are a business, and want to brand your
business for free. Then Facebook can help.
4. Should I have a Business FB
Page?
According to the Flowtown infographic, 69
percent of small businesses use Facebook as a
marketing tool. However, for those small
businesses with owners over the age of 54,
they are less likely to rely on Facebook for their
marketing.
5. The Present Situation
Facebook is a great tool to increase awareness of
your business; however, it can be confusing.
You’re probably aware that there are a few different
types of pages: personal, community/group, fan and
business pages. While these pages were created to
promote and inform different publics, many people do
not distinguish between the various types. Instead,
they use their business’ page as they do their per-
sonal or fan page
6. It's a Social Network
The fact that you can log in as a business rather than a personal
profile is a huge step forward and one that opens a whole host of
new networking opportunities. Up until now you had to work within
the confines of your own page but now you take you business identi-
ty all over Facebook and the web in general. You can like things,
comment on other pages and engage in entirely new ways. This
change should not be underestimated because the networking po-
tential of commenting on other pages and actively engaging with
users away from your own business page is huge. The important
thing to remember here is that every time you engage somewhere it
will leave a link back to your own page so very much like comment-
ing is a good strategy for growing blog traffic the same now applies
to Facebook.
@someones business page and then “Like” them.
7. Facebook for Biz
Pagemodo, the Facebook Page customizing firm,
today released survey results which found that
having a Facebook page has increased sales
for small businesses and has driven traffic to
their websites
This survey of over 1,500 businesses found that
48 percent of them have increased sales
because of their Facebook presence. Forty-
seven percent said that the Facebook presence
has driven traffic to their website.
8. How to Manage my Biz on FB
Target Your Audience
If you are trying to promote your company through a social media
website, think about who you are trying to reach. Then design you
page strategy around this audience. This will include asking yourself
what type of content they would like to see or what content will be of
most benefit to your target audience. Besides providing great con-
tent targeted towards your desired audience, another way to build
traffic and awareness to your Facebook page is by following or liking
other businesses’ pages. For example, if you are a local restaurant,
think about liking pages on Facebook such as the city of Nashville,
other local restaurants, local news stations and your frequent cus-
tomer’s pages.
9. How to Manage my Biz on FB
Produce and Reproduce Relevant Information
Social media websites such as Facebook are about
sharing. It is vital that you or your company interact
with your friends and followers. “Liking” articles that
friends have posted, congratulating your friends on
their accomplishments and reposting material you
found insightful will increase your presence on these
sites and show your followers that you are listening to
them
