Let us all for just a second imagine, imagine you are running around on the grass. It's your choice,
you may get hurt but you take the risk. All is well until you step on a thorn. You don't want it and
it is not going to do you any good having it in your foot so you remove it. Problem solved. This is a
lot like having an abortion don't you think? greeting
Ladies and Gentlemen, I will address you on the thorny issue of abortion and raise serious points that
are not only true, but also correct. arguments

These date back to the offences against the person act of 1861. In Queensland the laws regarding
termination are vague and unclear. But in the states of NSW, VIC and TAS an abortion can only
be performed to preserve the mothers physical and or mental well being. It doesn't get any better
in the remaining states. According to the World Health Organization unsafe and illegal abortions
cause the death of thousands of women every year while thousands more are seriously injured.
Legal abortions protect women's health with safe sterile procedures. If this is a free country why
is our government outlawing individual rights and the freedom to choose. If abortion becomes a
criminal offence punishable by death for example then the people that need one will move
underground like everything else criminal making it dangerous and risky. Forcing women to bear
an unwanted child is not good for family relations. If you were forced to go through a great deal of
effort for something you did not want would you like it just because it's there? An unwanted child is
in a lot worse position than an unwanted foetus.

You are now more likely to die in childbirth than in a legal and safe abortion. As with all surgery

Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Essay
From the day you are born, learning and education are the most important skills for survival in
today's society. The most valuable thing learned on your journey of life is the ability to distinguish
"Right from Wrong", both technically and morally. Though easy at first with the minor day to day
issues we deal with, it can become quite difficult when more pressing issues are placed in front of
you. Many things influence a person's judgment. While one person believes that their view is the
absolute truth, another sees that person as idiotic and uneducated. The important thing to remember
when making a decision is to be open–minded, and push the outside influences away so that you can
see both sides of the issue and make a decision for...show more content...
In Jane English's argument she says that even if you don't consider the fetus a human, abortion is no
more justified then the torture and killing of animals. In the end, even with adoption, how many
women can acrry a baby for nine months, give it away, and stay in a good emotional state?
The Pro–Choice side is often mistakenly defined as the argument for abortion. Actually it is not an
argument for abortion as much as it is for a woman's right to chose. Some Pro–Choice supporters are
totally agaisnts abortion, but are in favor of the woman's right to choose. This side tend to not
personify a fetus until birth, therefore giving it no right to life and leaving the choice of what a
woman does to her body to her. Though Pro–Life supporters consider a fetus as an innocent human
being, some people can justify abortion still. In Jane English's argument she is able to illustrate a
situation in which the killing of an innocent person is justifiable. Pro–Choice supporters also raise an
interesting point of our moral obligation to help these women. They believe that if a woman
really wants an abortion she will have one, legal or not. They believe it is our duty as moral
citizens to provide for their well being by givin them a well suited medical environment and
qualified doctor to help them. Still, can it be right to put the exsistence of a creature in the life of a
woman? Will all women think responsibily before proceeding

There have been many questions that have surfaced in today's world that has piqued my interest.
People have wondered out loud should hip hop music be banned. Others have questioned should
marijuana be legalized? A friend of mine once asked me should there be a curfew for teenagers
under the age of 18. Any of those questions can be seen as sufficient and important but one question
that truly piques my interest is about abortion. Should women be allowed to have an abortion?
Politicians have used this question to enhance their candidacy for office year after year. Even
though I am not running for office I do have a strong opinion about this topic. Due to social factors,
economical factors, and personal factors I believe...show more content...
Some women are not mentally prepared to take care of a child. Some may even have a pre–existing
psychiatric metal disorder or a medical condition where having a child may alter the woman's life
altogether. In my life I have known a couple of people that have had abortions due to economical
factors that I agreed with. Looking at their financial situation I could see why they felt it was in the
best interest of everyone involved for them to get an abortion. When a person has a child under an
umbrella of economic hardship it can create a stressful and sometimes hostile environment with the
primary instigators of angry outbursts being the parents. I believe a child should not grow up in a
hostile environment if it can be avoided. All effects of a child growing up in a hostile environment
reflect on their lack of education and their malnutrition. A parent's economic status is the cornerstone
of the family. A person's economic status can have a great impact not only on the household income,
but also on the education of children (including sanitation), and avoiding early child deaths due to
bad habits, sanitation or improper food or water. According to StateUniversity.com "poor children

Pro Choice Abortion Essay
The topic of abortion is a hot subject among the people of America today. Some say yes, women
should be able to have abortions no matter if the fetus is in the first trimester or well in to the
second trimester of gestation. On the other hand the other people say that it is murder of a child no
matter the stage of development. Many of the people that believe that the fertilized ovum is a human
and has a soul at the conception are the pro–life people. They believe this because of their religious
beliefs and cannot scientifically prove this in any way. Pro choice is anyone who feels women

Who is to say that if all children ever conceived were born they would live happy, healthy lives?
There are plenty of commercials on television proving that the world is full of starving children.
So should we add to the population of starving children? For many women, the choice could be
related to their own health. Women have the right to choose their own life over a child they
would never see if they went through with the birth. 24 percent of women having abortions are
unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life.
To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress
is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a
miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A
woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child. It is understandable
how people can disagree with abortion. Babies are miracles in themselves and any parent knows
that. However, we are only human, and we all have the right to choose how we live. If having a
child would only make one?s life worse, then giving birth may not be the answer. Though abortion
may seem unfortunate, it may all be for the better. Therefore, people must open their minds a little to
accept this. Abortion is a serious subject, and anyone who considers it must be rational, and

Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice
Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of
years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law
making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into
"Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to
choice whether to abort or not. Pro–Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and
preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still
remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a
pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed. In 1973, a...show more content...
The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the
enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth
Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control
over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue
that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not
override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is
personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights
and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th
amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include
that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only
fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from
fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that
destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered
ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that
would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is

This article is another piece of written truth as to how one's social upbringing reflects their views and
opinions.      The average pro–life activist tends to be a
lesser–educated individual who grew up seeing family life as a root to all means. Her parents
were of a lower income bracket, barely finished high school, and more that likely her parents
provided many siblings. She wed directly out of high school to a low income white collar worked
and has many children herself. The pro–life activist believes strongly in the church and the fact that
the main purpose of sexuality is procreation. These women were raised to believe that motherhood
is the single most rewarding role for a woman. When they become...show more content...
When comparing the two views of these activists, it is clear to
see how one's social upbringing will effect their views. Pro–life supporters have always been
exposed to the idea that no matter what, there is always room for another child in their home. They
have seen their mother as being the homemaker and caregiver for all family members. These
supporters feel it is their place in society to provide the nurturing for the rest of the family while the
male is the working mate of the two and not matter how financially set they are, they will find a way
to provide.      Pro–choice supporters on the other hand have been
raised in a higher social class where more than likely both parents, but at least the father, have a
college degree. They have pursued college and have married mate equal to themselves. They share
beliefs with their mates that they are equal beings and want to give their children the best they can.
Hence the fact, they would rather not bring a child into the world without being able to fully provide
for the child the way they were provided for.      One can gather
from this article that pro–life supporters, since raised without a lot of financial stability and are
unable to provide much for themselves, are unable to see the reasoning to

Pro-Choice : The Pros And Cons Of Abortion
Abortion refers to the termination of a pregnancy in one of two ways. One, the abortion pill
(medically induced abortion) or two, surgical abortion depending on how far along the woman is. In
1973, a famous court case, Roe v. Wade legalized abortion across the nation and nullified the Texas
state prohibition. The only time the state could intervene was after the first trimester, but during this
time the woman had the right to privacy of her own body. After this staggering case, this
controversial topic took off at full speed. What the court failed to address was whether human life
started at birth, conception or somewhere in between. Splitting the nation into two sides, pro–life
and pro–choice, the question if abortion should be legal or not still has not been answered. In defense
of this ongoing argument, the pro–choice side is morally and socially correct.
To be pro–choice does not necessarily mean that a person is rooting for abortions, it means that they
believe in contraceptives, women's rights and the fourteenth amendment. They are the type of
people to believe that items such as birth control and condoms raise awareness and promote the use
of such. This way, the number of unintended pregnancies go down and the rate of abortion will go
down along with it. Nobody wants to go around putting women through this exhausting experience,
but it is always beneficial to know that they have a list of choices to cover when the time comes.
Multiple reasons lead up to why a mother

Pro Choice And Women 's Rights Essay
Overview The issue concerning Pro–Choice and Women's Rights are, un–argumentatively,
intertwined, due to its complexity and strong position of defending what is perceived as a basic
human right, the right of women to have a choice to reproductive health. Unfortunately,
governmental action is delayed and avoids incorporating into policy, the right to reproductive care as
a preventive and medical necessity that needs to be covered by health insurances. Pro–Choice
legislation is controversial and has divided America into two extremes, Pro–Choice vs. Pro–Life
supporters, placing a debate ring in the middle of a social, economic, and political fight, which
impacts millions of women and families in America. While Pro–Choice groups advocate for access
to reproductive care, including free contraceptive, education and abortion care, anti–choice
movement constantly pushes for new bills and legislations to unprotect women's rights. As reported
by Tara Culp–Ressler, anti–choice proposals include blocking access to abortion care by elevating
regulations for abortion providers at the state and federal level (Texas), banning abortion after six
weeks of gestation (Alabama), threatening abortion practitioner with life in prison (South Dakota),
and in some states, they pursue is to even ban abortion for abnormality cases or even rape.
(Culp–Ressler, 2013) A 2013 public poll conducted by the Pew Research Center found that 54% of

The ethical dilemma regarding the "Pro–choice Vs. Pro–life can be answered by the Deontological
ethical theory. The Deontological theory is also called the duty–based ethics. To explain,
Deontological theory states that the righteous of an action or a deed is determined by the principal
motivation of doing that particular act ("BBC – Ethics – Introduction to ethics: Duty–based ethics",
n.d.). In addition, according to Immanuel Kant, the philosopher who introduced this belief, the
justification of an individual's every action should be based on one's own reason and mental analysis
rather than analyzing it based on traditions (Kurtz & Burr, 2016). Furthermore, Kant's work titled,

Moreover, an emphasis is imposed on the rights of a single patient to commit an act or decision
even though it is in contrast with the views of the others. In regards to the ethical dilemma, a nurse
could not justify the morality of the two possible choices based on their results and consequences.
The Deontological approach would encourage the health care staff as well as the patient to ask
themselves the most righteous choice for their situation. With this in mind, a combination of ethical
theories can also be employed to give light to the dilemma. In view of this, another ethical approach
could be applied to solve the issue, and this is the Right–based approach. This theory also aim to
promote the rights of every person, and that, they are indispensable just to make ends meet.
However, not all ethical theories can be incorporated in every dilemma in a health care setting
because their foundations would contradict one another. In order to provide an effective and
efficient solution, nurses should be knowledgeable of the principles enveloping each of the ethical
theories and should be wise to apply them in appropriate issues and

What Is Pro Choice?

Rights–– and About Time," written by Lindsay Beyerstein in The American Prospect, abortion and
the reason chose to be Pro Choice are addressed. Many people throughout life can overcome the
question, is abortion right? The only problem is no one can never give the reason for yes or no. The
information provided in this article shows of ways that people should look back and reevaluate their
decision on thinking that abortion is wrong. It has been detected that in many places recently,
"Abortion access has decreased dramatically in Texas since the state's restrictive anti–choice law

Essay On Pro Life Vs Pro Choice
I had the opportunity to research the difference between pro–life and pro–choice. Myself along with
3 other girls, were given pro–choice to debate about on December 5th. Working with these girls to
find information that was credible, and spending time together in the library took hard work. Not
only did we have to research our own given side, we had to gain knowledge on pro–live as well.
After hours of research and collaboration, we all felt confident for this debate. No one in my group
has been into a debate before so this was stressful, and nerve wracking to do it for the first time on a
final. To go first was pro–life and they talked about how science was on their side, that life starts at

have a choice about if it should live or not. Although we did not get to speak about most of what
was written down we all felt very confident at that point. We were strong, and stumped the other
team we were debating a few times during the cross examination. Speaker one for pro–choice went

fighting for safe abortions. Hailey gave examples of what a self–induced abortion was such has

were finished we had a brief break. At this time we all got together again to speak about what I, the

Pro Life And Pro Choice
Out of all modern social controversies, perhaps the most heated controversy is that of abortion. In
today's society you are either a Pro–life or a Pro–choice, there is not a middle ground. Pro–life are
individuals who believe abortion is immoral and should be stop for the wellbeing of women and
unborn babies. In contrast, the Pro–choice individuals do not necessarily promote abortion, they just
believe women should be the ones to make decisions over their bodies and health. Although the two
main sides of the abortion debate have concerns for human life, pro–life activists worries more about
the fetus and morals, a clear difference from the pro–choice that worries more for the women and
their rights. Based on the points I explored, the pro–choice arguments are stronger than pro–life
arguments. Most of both groups arguments comes from peer–reviewed researches from well–known
sources to support each individual concept. Effects on women, socio–politics, and fetus are some of
the main point of conflicts between the pro–life and pro–choice advocates.
Pro–life activist argue that abortion leaves women suffering psychological and physical damage.
This arguments are mostly based on peer–reviewed studies published by several medical journals.
For example, they used a peer–reviewed study published in BMC Medicine in 2005 that stated that
even after five years of the pregnancy termination, women had higher anxiety scores. Also, a

Making a Case for Pro-Choice
Abortion is the expulsion of the products of conception before the embryo or fetus is viable. If
anything happens before the 28th week of a pregnancy, it is known as an abortion. Most people
do not get the whole picture about abortions and how they work and why they should be able to
happen. If the pregnancy risked the mother's life, would you still have the child? This is why
abortions should be allowed because of serious situations like this. No other person can tell you
what to do with your body so why would you tell someone to have a child they do not want? Think
about it. If you really thought about the situation at hand, you would comprehend the other point of
view we are trying to make. Just because certain people view abortions as something that is against
humanity doesn't mean that state laws should make it illegal.
Abortions are a very serious issue that everyone around the world has to hear about or deal with.
The fact that they want to make it illegal in the US to have an abortion is not right. Certain states in
the US have trigger laws where it's illegal to get an abortion after the first and second trimesters.
It's illegal to get an abortion in most countries but women still find a way to get an abortion. A
legal abortion accordance with the local law is one of the safest procedures in today's medicine but
still has some complications later on. Even though having an illegal abortion is very dangerous,
women still go through with it. Having to get a legal

Pro-Choice: What Are Women's Right?
Women have the right to make their own choices when it comes to their reproductive capacities.
Pro–choice supporters believe that women should have the legal right to choose what they do
with their own bodies, even if it means ending a pregnancy. If a woman decides to end a
pregnancy, from the cause of rape, she should be able to make that choice freely. Keeping her baby
could be a constantly reminder of the horrific event that took place. However, the pro–life supporters
wouldn't see her as a rape victim, but as woman who committed murder to their unborn child.
Pro–choice supporters believe that women should have a good education on sexual intercourse and
they should have access family planning information. Therefore, pro–choice is having

So you made a mistake, but life is all about fixing those mistakes and learning from them. Abortion
has been a topic talked about for several years and I strongly believe that abortion should be the
mothers choice. The definition of abortion is "The termination of pregnancy by the removal or
expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth." Pro–life
people are against abortion and consider it to be murder whereas pro–choice people believe it is the
mothers choice whether she wants to abort the baby or not. Women have many reasons to abort their
babies such as religion, age and financial problems.
People in our world are of many different religions and all those different religions have different
opinions on abortion. Many people believe in pro–life because of their religion. Most religions such
as Catholicism and Hinduism are against abortion, but not all Jews Buddhists are completely against.
Under extreme cases, they believe that abortion should be allowed. Even some pro–life believes

Essay on Pro-Choice Argument
Thou shalt not kill; one–tenth of what may arguably be the most famous guidelines of morality in
the western culture, and also the main driving force for pro–life advocates. The argument supporting
their beliefs typically starts with the premises that a fetus is a person, and to destroy or to kill a
person is unethical. Therefore abortion, the premeditated destruction of a human being, is murder,
and consequently unethical. I deny the fact that the fetus, what I will refer to as an embryo up to 22
weeks old, has the right to live. The opposing argument is invalid because a fetus, although
perhaps a part of human species, is not formally a person. This leaves it simply to be a part of the
woman?s body, whose fate lies solely in the...show more content...
It has the full potential of becoming a person. In that sentence is the distinction. A person has the
right to live and to be treated with equal consideration among the rest of the population. A fetus,
although undeniably a human, is not a person, and therefore does not have those rights. A single
cell amoeba is extremely similar to a human zygote, it also has a unique set of DNA, uses oxygen
for energy that allows its cells divide and grow just the same as a human zygote; but it would be
absurd for someone to defend the life of this amoeba because it has a right to live. To refer to a
fetus as a person that deserves rights is a blatant category mistake. A fetus is not a person in the
same right as you and I, it is a bundle of human cells with the potential of becoming a person.
By arguing that the fetus has rights, it is implied that the fetus has a right to be in its mother?s
womb regardless of her consent. This is obviously false, considering the mother has only let it be
there by some form of her authorization. A fetus does not invade a woman?s body against her
will, there was an act that the mother took part in, willingly or not, which allowed for a condition
in which her egg was fertilized and began to mutate into a larger clump of her cells in her body
and subsequently formed a fetus. If the fetus exists in a woman?s body only by her permission,
how could we argue that it has a right to be there against her will? We can?t. It would be

Why Pro-Choice Is The Right Choice
Why Pro–Choice is the Right Choice
With the evolving moral standards of society, abortions are becoming more and more justified.
Abortions, the practice of removing a fertilized egg from a mother, has become a controversial issue
in American society, but should be generally supported because women should have the choice on
how they choose their eggs to go on, whether it be to end further growth of the fetus or not. Women
have a right to control what happens in and with their body.
Being a pro–choice defender means taking sympathies to this woman while she then gets called a
murderer by pro–life supporters. Abortions sometimes results in the woman being harassed because
of the choice she has made about her own body. That's what pro–life supports....show more content...

The father of the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims she became pregnant in

allowed an abortion after the 20–week legal limit was turned down by two regional courts before the

the girl was not in a fit state to have the baby and the procedure would be carried out on Friday in

fetus. There is no right or wrong when it comes to abortion; values contribute a great amount to an
individual's opinion. This process has led to numerous debates among individuals who believe that
it is up to a woman to decide what to do with her body and the individuals who hold that women do
not have the right to take away a life. Although it may seem as if the beliefs of pro–life and
pro–choice advocates are on opposite sides of a spectrum, the two sides can come to an agreement
about how to at least lessen the number of abortions occurring. Pro–choice advocates debate that
women should have independence in regards to what they choose to do with their own bodies.
These advocates point to the Constitution to support their decision because "in 1973 the landmark
decision of Roe v. Wade established that a woman's right to abortion is protected by her
constitutional right of privacy" ("30 Days: Pro–Choice/ Pro–Life"). This pertains to freedom of
choice. It seems as though a pro–choice supporter would argue that since the fetus is inside a...show

As Jennifer speaks to Dr. Donald Smith (a pro–life supporter) about his views on abortion, he argues
that "an individual human life begins at the moment of fertilization.. in other words if you
understood that you killed another human being, that wouldn't change your mind?" ("30 Days").
Since pro–life supporters believe that life begins at fertilization, it is reasonable to relate getting rid
of a pregnancy to intentionally killing an individual. Killing an individual is an act of crime,
therefore a pro–choice activist may view a woman choosing to go through abortion as a criminal.
Supporters of this perspective can agree that the unborn baby also has

Pro Choice Essay

  • 1. Essay about Prochoice Prochoice Let us all for just a second imagine, imagine you are running around on the grass. It's your choice, you may get hurt but you take the risk. All is well until you step on a thorn. You don't want it and it is not going to do you any good having it in your foot so you remove it. Problem solved. This is a lot like having an abortion don't you think? greeting Ladies and Gentlemen, I will address you on the thorny issue of abortion and raise serious points that are not only true, but also correct. arguments Does a foetus have the right to be in the body of a woman that does not want it to be there? This is an organized and structured speech, questions you have will be answered. Especially if your questions concern...show more content... These date back to the offences against the person act of 1861. In Queensland the laws regarding termination are vague and unclear. But in the states of NSW, VIC and TAS an abortion can only be performed to preserve the mothers physical and or mental well being. It doesn't get any better in the remaining states. According to the World Health Organization unsafe and illegal abortions cause the death of thousands of women every year while thousands more are seriously injured. Legal abortions protect women's health with safe sterile procedures. If this is a free country why is our government outlawing individual rights and the freedom to choose. If abortion becomes a criminal offence punishable by death for example then the people that need one will move underground like everything else criminal making it dangerous and risky. Forcing women to bear an unwanted child is not good for family relations. If you were forced to go through a great deal of effort for something you did not want would you like it just because it's there? An unwanted child is in a lot worse position than an unwanted foetus. Safety You are now more likely to die in childbirth than in a legal and safe abortion. As with all surgery there is a risk involved. Today the risk is very small with less than one death for every 100.000 abortions. When you compare Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Essay From the day you are born, learning and education are the most important skills for survival in today's society. The most valuable thing learned on your journey of life is the ability to distinguish "Right from Wrong", both technically and morally. Though easy at first with the minor day to day issues we deal with, it can become quite difficult when more pressing issues are placed in front of you. Many things influence a person's judgment. While one person believes that their view is the absolute truth, another sees that person as idiotic and uneducated. The important thing to remember when making a decision is to be open–minded, and push the outside influences away so that you can see both sides of the issue and make a decision for...show more content... In Jane English's argument she says that even if you don't consider the fetus a human, abortion is no more justified then the torture and killing of animals. In the end, even with adoption, how many women can acrry a baby for nine months, give it away, and stay in a good emotional state? The Pro–Choice side is often mistakenly defined as the argument for abortion. Actually it is not an argument for abortion as much as it is for a woman's right to chose. Some Pro–Choice supporters are totally agaisnts abortion, but are in favor of the woman's right to choose. This side tend to not personify a fetus until birth, therefore giving it no right to life and leaving the choice of what a woman does to her body to her. Though Pro–Life supporters consider a fetus as an innocent human being, some people can justify abortion still. In Jane English's argument she is able to illustrate a situation in which the killing of an innocent person is justifiable. Pro–Choice supporters also raise an interesting point of our moral obligation to help these women. They believe that if a woman really wants an abortion she will have one, legal or not. They believe it is our duty as moral citizens to provide for their well being by givin them a well suited medical environment and qualified doctor to help them. Still, can it be right to put the exsistence of a creature in the life of a woman? Will all women think responsibily before proceeding Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Pro choice Essay There have been many questions that have surfaced in today's world that has piqued my interest. People have wondered out loud should hip hop music be banned. Others have questioned should marijuana be legalized? A friend of mine once asked me should there be a curfew for teenagers under the age of 18. Any of those questions can be seen as sufficient and important but one question that truly piques my interest is about abortion. Should women be allowed to have an abortion? Politicians have used this question to enhance their candidacy for office year after year. Even though I am not running for office I do have a strong opinion about this topic. Due to social factors, economical factors, and personal factors I believe...show more content... Some women are not mentally prepared to take care of a child. Some may even have a pre–existing psychiatric metal disorder or a medical condition where having a child may alter the woman's life altogether. In my life I have known a couple of people that have had abortions due to economical factors that I agreed with. Looking at their financial situation I could see why they felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved for them to get an abortion. When a person has a child under an umbrella of economic hardship it can create a stressful and sometimes hostile environment with the primary instigators of angry outbursts being the parents. I believe a child should not grow up in a hostile environment if it can be avoided. All effects of a child growing up in a hostile environment reflect on their lack of education and their malnutrition. A parent's economic status is the cornerstone of the family. A person's economic status can have a great impact not only on the household income, but also on the education of children (including sanitation), and avoiding early child deaths due to bad habits, sanitation or improper food or water. According to StateUniversity.com "poor children are twice as likely Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Pro Choice Abortion Essay The topic of abortion is a hot subject among the people of America today. Some say yes, women should be able to have abortions no matter if the fetus is in the first trimester or well in to the second trimester of gestation. On the other hand the other people say that it is murder of a child no matter the stage of development. Many of the people that believe that the fertilized ovum is a human and has a soul at the conception are the pro–life people. They believe this because of their religious beliefs and cannot scientifically prove this in any way. Pro choice is anyone who feels women have the individual right to choose abortion as an option. We live in a democracy, where we have the right to choose how we live. It is a woman?s right...show more content... Who is to say that if all children ever conceived were born they would live happy, healthy lives? There are plenty of commercials on television proving that the world is full of starving children. So should we add to the population of starving children? For many women, the choice could be related to their own health. Women have the right to choose their own life over a child they would never see if they went through with the birth. 24 percent of women having abortions are unmarried teenagers. Pregnancy can be a scary and extremely stressful time in a women?s life. To force a woman who is not ready for a child to go through with the birth is not the answer. Stress is not good for the fetus at all, and could lead to complications in the pregnancy, or even a miscarriage. People also seem to forget about a women?s mental health in these situations. A woman could be haunted for her lifetime of giving birth to an unborn child. It is understandable how people can disagree with abortion. Babies are miracles in themselves and any parent knows that. However, we are only human, and we all have the right to choose how we live. If having a child would only make one?s life worse, then giving birth may not be the answer. Though abortion may seem unfortunate, it may all be for the better. Therefore, people must open their minds a little to accept this. Abortion is a serious subject, and anyone who considers it must be rational, and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Essay Abortion: Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Abortion is never an easy decision, but women have been making the choice for thousands of years. It has become a large dilemma since 1973, when the U.S. Supreme Court passed a law making the procedure legal, and an even larger controversial issue. The controversy is divided into "Pro–Choice" and Pro–Life" views. Pro–Choice supporters believe that the woman should have to choice whether to abort or not. Pro–Life supporters believe that it should be illegal to abort and preformed. However, there are many ways for this procedure to be performed. Abortion still remains today a controversial issue, by who should determine if it is the right thing to terminate a pregnancy or not and by how the procedure should be preformed. In 1973, a...show more content... The district court ruled in McCorvey's favor on the merits, but didn't grand an injunction against the enforcement of the laws barring abortion. The courts decision was based upon the Ninth Amendment. Pro–choice describes political and ethical views that a woman should have the control over her fertility and the choice to continue or terminate her pregnancy. Pro–choice activists argue that an embryo has no rights as it is only a potential and not an actual person and its rights should not override those of the mother's until after it is born. The right to choose to have an abortion is personal and essential to women's lives and without this right, women cannot exercise their rights and liberties guaranteed to them by the Constitution. Without the right to choose an abortion the 14th amendment's guarantee of liberty has little meaning for women. Another point made could include that a man can withdraw from a relationship when he finds out that his spouse is pregnant, it is only fair that women be given the same choice. Pro–life supporters believe that human life starts from fertilization or implantation until natural death. From the view of a pro–life advocate and action that destroys an embryo or fetus kills a person, any purposeful destruction of a human life is considered ethically and/or morally wrong. Some advocates of pro–life even oppose abortion of a fetus that would almost certainly die a short time after birth. The pro–life movement is Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Pro-Life vs. Pro-Choice Essay examples This article is another piece of written truth as to how one's social upbringing reflects their views and opinions.      The average pro–life activist tends to be a lesser–educated individual who grew up seeing family life as a root to all means. Her parents were of a lower income bracket, barely finished high school, and more that likely her parents provided many siblings. She wed directly out of high school to a low income white collar worked and has many children herself. The pro–life activist believes strongly in the church and the fact that the main purpose of sexuality is procreation. These women were raised to believe that motherhood is the single most rewarding role for a woman. When they become...show more content...      When comparing the two views of these activists, it is clear to see how one's social upbringing will effect their views. Pro–life supporters have always been exposed to the idea that no matter what, there is always room for another child in their home. They have seen their mother as being the homemaker and caregiver for all family members. These supporters feel it is their place in society to provide the nurturing for the rest of the family while the male is the working mate of the two and not matter how financially set they are, they will find a way to provide.      Pro–choice supporters on the other hand have been raised in a higher social class where more than likely both parents, but at least the father, have a college degree. They have pursued college and have married mate equal to themselves. They share beliefs with their mates that they are equal beings and want to give their children the best they can. Hence the fact, they would rather not bring a child into the world without being able to fully provide for the child the way they were provided for.      One can gather from this article that pro–life supporters, since raised without a lot of financial stability and are unable to provide much for themselves, are unable to see the reasoning to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Pro-Choice : The Pros And Cons Of Abortion Abortion refers to the termination of a pregnancy in one of two ways. One, the abortion pill (medically induced abortion) or two, surgical abortion depending on how far along the woman is. In 1973, a famous court case, Roe v. Wade legalized abortion across the nation and nullified the Texas state prohibition. The only time the state could intervene was after the first trimester, but during this time the woman had the right to privacy of her own body. After this staggering case, this controversial topic took off at full speed. What the court failed to address was whether human life started at birth, conception or somewhere in between. Splitting the nation into two sides, pro–life and pro–choice, the question if abortion should be legal or not still has not been answered. In defense of this ongoing argument, the pro–choice side is morally and socially correct. To be pro–choice does not necessarily mean that a person is rooting for abortions, it means that they believe in contraceptives, women's rights and the fourteenth amendment. They are the type of people to believe that items such as birth control and condoms raise awareness and promote the use of such. This way, the number of unintended pregnancies go down and the rate of abortion will go down along with it. Nobody wants to go around putting women through this exhausting experience, but it is always beneficial to know that they have a list of choices to cover when the time comes. Multiple reasons lead up to why a mother Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Pro Choice And Women 's Rights Essay Overview The issue concerning Pro–Choice and Women's Rights are, un–argumentatively, intertwined, due to its complexity and strong position of defending what is perceived as a basic human right, the right of women to have a choice to reproductive health. Unfortunately, governmental action is delayed and avoids incorporating into policy, the right to reproductive care as a preventive and medical necessity that needs to be covered by health insurances. Pro–Choice legislation is controversial and has divided America into two extremes, Pro–Choice vs. Pro–Life supporters, placing a debate ring in the middle of a social, economic, and political fight, which impacts millions of women and families in America. While Pro–Choice groups advocate for access to reproductive care, including free contraceptive, education and abortion care, anti–choice movement constantly pushes for new bills and legislations to unprotect women's rights. As reported by Tara Culp–Ressler, anti–choice proposals include blocking access to abortion care by elevating regulations for abortion providers at the state and federal level (Texas), banning abortion after six weeks of gestation (Alabama), threatening abortion practitioner with life in prison (South Dakota), and in some states, they pursue is to even ban abortion for abnormality cases or even rape. (Culp–Ressler, 2013) A 2013 public poll conducted by the Pew Research Center found that 54% of the American thought abortion should be legal in all or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. The ethical dilemma regarding the "Pro–choice Vs. Pro–life can be answered by the Deontological ethical theory. The Deontological theory is also called the duty–based ethics. To explain, Deontological theory states that the righteous of an action or a deed is determined by the principal motivation of doing that particular act ("BBC – Ethics – Introduction to ethics: Duty–based ethics", n.d.). In addition, according to Immanuel Kant, the philosopher who introduced this belief, the justification of an individual's every action should be based on one's own reason and mental analysis rather than analyzing it based on traditions (Kurtz & Burr, 2016). Furthermore, Kant's work titled, "Groundwork of the Metaphysics of Moral, explained that human beings...show more content... Moreover, an emphasis is imposed on the rights of a single patient to commit an act or decision even though it is in contrast with the views of the others. In regards to the ethical dilemma, a nurse could not justify the morality of the two possible choices based on their results and consequences. The Deontological approach would encourage the health care staff as well as the patient to ask themselves the most righteous choice for their situation. With this in mind, a combination of ethical theories can also be employed to give light to the dilemma. In view of this, another ethical approach could be applied to solve the issue, and this is the Right–based approach. This theory also aim to promote the rights of every person, and that, they are indispensable just to make ends meet. However, not all ethical theories can be incorporated in every dilemma in a health care setting because their foundations would contradict one another. Pro Choice In the article "Defending Choice, Yet Again: An Unapologetic Defense of Abortion Rights–– and About Time," written by Lindsay Beyerstein in The American Prospect, abortion and the reason chose to be Pro Choice are addressed. Many people throughout life can overcome the question, is abortion right? The only problem is no one can never give the reason for yes or no. The information provided in this article shows of ways that people should look back and reevaluate their decision on thinking that abortion is wrong. It has been detected that in many places recently, "Abortion access has decreased dramatically in Texas since the state's restrictive anti–choice law went into effect in 2013" (Beyerstein). • 11. Essay On Pro Life Vs Pro Choice I had the opportunity to research the difference between pro–life and pro–choice. Myself along with 3 other girls, were given pro–choice to debate about on December 5th. Working with these girls to find information that was credible, and spending time together in the library took hard work. Not only did we have to research our own given side, we had to gain knowledge on pro–live as well. After hours of research and collaboration, we all felt confident for this debate. No one in my group has been into a debate before so this was stressful, and nerve wracking to do it for the first time on a final. Brooke was respectfully come back and she pushed a new topic in there as much as she could but the other girl was set on talking about the baby and how the mother doesn't have a choice about if it should live or not. Although we did not get to speak about most of what was written down we all felt very confident at that point. We were strong, and stumped the other team we were debating a few times during the cross examination. Speaker one for pro–choice went first. We had a very strong wrap up at this point. Hailey spoke about what we were fighting. We were fighting for safe abortions. Hailey gave examples of what a self–induced abortion was such has swallowing gun powder. She also gave the other side prices of what is actually cost to have a child. With all this new information we were given to the opposite side, we all were getting excited because we really did feel confident about this debate. After both speakers from each side were finished we had a brief break. At this time we all got together again to speak about what I, the conclusion speaker, would talk Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Pro Life And Pro Choice Out of all modern social controversies, perhaps the most heated controversy is that of abortion. In today's society you are either a Pro–life or a Pro–choice, there is not a middle ground. Pro–life are individuals who believe abortion is immoral and should be stop for the wellbeing of women and unborn babies. In contrast, the Pro–choice individuals do not necessarily promote abortion, they just believe women should be the ones to make decisions over their bodies and health. Although the two main sides of the abortion debate have concerns for human life, pro–life activists worries more about the fetus and morals, a clear difference from the pro–choice that worries more for the women and their rights. Based on the points I explored, the pro–choice arguments are stronger than pro–life arguments. Most of both groups arguments comes from peer–reviewed researches from well–known sources to support each individual concept. Effects on women, socio–politics, and fetus are some of the main point of conflicts between the pro–life and pro–choice advocates. Pro–life activist argue that abortion leaves women suffering psychological and physical damage. This arguments are mostly based on peer–reviewed studies published by several medical journals. For example, they used a peer–reviewed study published in BMC Medicine in 2005 that stated that even after five years of the pregnancy termination, women had higher anxiety scores. • 13. Making a Case for Pro-Choice Abortion is the expulsion of the products of conception before the embryo or fetus is viable. If anything happens before the 28th week of a pregnancy, it is known as an abortion. Most people do not get the whole picture about abortions and how they work and why they should be able to happen. If the pregnancy risked the mother's life, would you still have the child? This is why abortions should be allowed because of serious situations like this. No other person can tell you what to do with your body so why would you tell someone to have a child they do not want? Think about it. If you really thought about the situation at hand, you would comprehend the other point of view we are trying to make. Just because certain people view abortions as something that is against humanity doesn't mean that state laws should make it illegal. Abortions are a very serious issue that everyone around the world has to hear about or deal with. The fact that they want to make it illegal in the US to have an abortion is not right. Certain states in the US have trigger laws where it's illegal to get an abortion after the first and second trimesters. It's illegal to get an abortion in most countries but women still find a way to get an abortion. A legal abortion accordance with the local law is one of the safest procedures in today's medicine but still has some complications later on. Even though having an illegal abortion is very dangerous, women still go through with it. Having to get a legal Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 14. Pro-Choice: What Are Women's Right? Women have the right to make their own choices when it comes to their reproductive capacities. Pro–choice supporters believe that women should have the legal right to choose what they do with their own bodies, even if it means ending a pregnancy. If a woman decides to end a pregnancy, from the cause of rape, she should be able to make that choice freely. Keeping her baby could be a constantly reminder of the horrific event that took place. However, the pro–life supporters wouldn't see her as a rape victim, but as woman who committed murder to their unborn child. Pro–choice supporters believe that women should have a good education on sexual intercourse and they should have access family planning information. • 15. Pro Life Vs Pro Choice So you made a mistake, but life is all about fixing those mistakes and learning from them. Abortion has been a topic talked about for several years and I strongly believe that abortion should be the mothers choice. The definition of abortion is "The termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to being capable of normal growth." Pro–life people are against abortion and consider it to be murder whereas pro–choice people believe it is the mothers choice whether she wants to abort the baby or not. Women have many reasons to abort their babies such as religion, age and financial problems. People in our world are of many different religions and all those different religions have different opinions on abortion. Many people believe in pro–life because of their religion. Most religions such as Catholicism and Hinduism are against abortion, but not all Jews Buddhists are completely against. Under extreme cases, they believe that abortion should be allowed. Even some pro–life believes think that under extreme cases the baby should be aborted. An example is if giving birth to the baby would put the mother or baby in danger. It's said that the risks of death associated with childbirth is 10 times higher than that of abortion....show more content... However, another child, Jamie Rush, had a successful pregnancy and everyone was supportive of her. • 16. Pro Choice Research Paper Do you believe it is a women's right to decided if she wants an abortion? Many people have debated whether it should be their right. Some believe it should not be because of religious or personal beliefs about life and others believe that it should because it is the women's right to make a decision about her body and also some believe it is not a life until the fetus can live on it's own. I believe that it is a the women's choice to have an abortion or not, and that they should be available to everyone. I am pro choice because I believe that you have a right to chose if you want a child or not and I have my beliefs for them. Women should be able to have abortions because she is entitled to make a decision about her own body. I and many others...show more content... Some are against the procedure because they believe it is a life at contraception not at birth, which gives the fetus a right to life, because abortions lower the amount of adopted babies, and because they believe abortion is baby killing. People believe that women should not have abortions because they see life as starting from when the egg in fertilized into an embryo, which mean they believe that a women should not abort that child because it had a right to live and decided if it wants to live. Also some believe that when women have abortions it lowers the amount of children available for adoption, for those who cannot conceive on their own. Most people that are not pro choice believe that when women have abortions, it is baby killing because the killing of an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has not born and because they believe when a women gets pregnant that they need to take responsibility for their actions and deal with the consequences. I believe that in this case everyone is allowed to have there own opinions, I will not argue that against beliefs and morals of another person but I believe that if the women has the choice then it should be hers to make. • 17. Essay on Pro-Choice Argument Thou shalt not kill; one–tenth of what may arguably be the most famous guidelines of morality in the western culture, and also the main driving force for pro–life advocates. The argument supporting their beliefs typically starts with the premises that a fetus is a person, and to destroy or to kill a person is unethical. Therefore abortion, the premeditated destruction of a human being, is murder, and consequently unethical. I deny the fact that the fetus, what I will refer to as an embryo up to 22 weeks old, has the right to live. The opposing argument is invalid because a fetus, although perhaps a part of human species, is not formally a person. This leaves it simply to be a part of the woman?s body, whose fate lies solely in the...show more content... It has the full potential of becoming a person. In that sentence is the distinction. A person has the right to live and to be treated with equal consideration among the rest of the population. A fetus, although undeniably a human, is not a person, and therefore does not have those rights. A single cell amoeba is extremely similar to a human zygote, it also has a unique set of DNA, uses oxygen for energy that allows its cells divide and grow just the same as a human zygote; but it would be absurd for someone to defend the life of this amoeba because it has a right to live. To refer to a fetus as a person that deserves rights is a blatant category mistake. A fetus is not a person in the same right as you and I, it is a bundle of human cells with the potential of becoming a person. By arguing that the fetus has rights, it is implied that the fetus has a right to be in its mother?s womb regardless of her consent. This is obviously false, considering the mother has only let it be there by some form of her authorization. A fetus does not invade a woman?s body against her will, there was an act that the mother took part in, willingly or not, which allowed for a condition in which her egg was fertilized and began to mutate into a larger clump of her cells in her body and subsequently formed a fetus. If the fetus exists in a woman?s body only by her permission, how could we argue that it has a right to be there against her will? We can?t. It would be Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 19. Why Pro-Choice Is The Right Choice Why Pro–Choice is the Right Choice With the evolving moral standards of society, abortions are becoming more and more justified. Abortions, the practice of removing a fertilized egg from a mother, has become a controversial issue in American society, but should be generally supported because women should have the choice on how they choose their eggs to go on, whether it be to end further growth of the fetus or not. Women have a right to control what happens in and with their body. Being a pro–choice defender means taking sympathies to this woman while she then gets called a murderer by pro–life supporters. Abortions sometimes results in the woman being harassed because of the choice she has made about her own body. That's what pro–life supports....show more content... This young girl had been raped and was 25 weeks pregnant when she found out she was pregnant. The father of the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims she became pregnant in February after her doctor injected her with sedatives and then raped her. His petition for her to be allowed an abortion after the 20–week legal limit was turned down by two regional courts before the Supreme Court on Tuesday gave the go–ahead if medics deemed there was a "serious threat to her life if the child is not aborted." M. M. Prabhakar, one of the doctors appointed to the case, said that the girl was not in a fit state to have the baby and the procedure would be carried out on Friday in Ahmedabad, which is the main city in western Gujarat state. Prabhakar states "The girl is not physically fit and her mental condition is also not stable. She was found to have suicidal tendencies," as he told AFP. This case should have been taken care of as soon as brought to the attention of doctors ("Protect Girls Pregnant Through Rape from Abortion") Some abortion cases are due to being too young to support the child. • 20. Pro Life Vs Pro Choice Research Paper There has been much controversy regarding the social, ethical, and medical predicament that abortion provokes. Abortion is the procedure of ending a pregnancy with the early removal of a fetus. There is no right or wrong when it comes to abortion; values contribute a great amount to an individual's opinion. This process has led to numerous debates among individuals who believe that it is up to a woman to decide what to do with her body and the individuals who hold that women do not have the right to take away a life. Although it may seem as if the beliefs of pro–life and pro–choice advocates are on opposite sides of a spectrum, the two sides can come to an agreement about how to at least lessen the number of abortions occurring. Pro–choice advocates debate that women should have independence in regards to what they choose to do with their own bodies. These advocates point to the Constitution to support their decision because "in 1973 the landmark decision of Roe v. Wade established that a woman's right to abortion is protected by her constitutional right of privacy" ("30 Days: Pro–Choice/ Pro–Life"). This pertains to freedom of choice. It seems as though a pro–choice supporter would argue that since the fetus is inside a...show more content... Killing an individual is an act of crime, therefore a pro–choice activist may view a woman choosing to go through abortion as a criminal.
