Inside Islam's background comes from this often misunderstood faith back to its tradition origins
before and within the Hebrew Bible, also providing information about on how the religion's central
constituents helps spread Islam religious belief throughout the world. This video provides
information on what the Qu'Ran says about topics ranging from violence to suicide, and how many

The photography and editing of this work are excellent. The History Channel did a great job of
editing and interviewing a number of people, but I felt it could have been more effective and
scholarly, should they have included prominent orthodox Christian scholars to the discussion.
Some of those who did interview seemed to miss the overwhelming significance of when
someone does not believe that Jesus is both fully God and fully human. Another perspective is
that the DVD does not emphasize the centuries of Islam's opposition toward Jews that is the
trademark of its impact in the Middle East. They do not treat well the absolute exclusion of
conversion to either the Jewish or Christian faith by Islam's adherents and the inevitable
consequence of reprimanding and even death when someone chooses to do so. Hence, it gives its
people a clear sense of democracy talking about the selection of the which faith they want to
believe. Moreover, the Islam is not dominating in the sense that it does not force any individual to
follow their faith especially when it is against one's will. One could easily watch the program and
come away with the idea that it is one of the three great peaceable religions of the world, of equal

The Muslim Culture Essay
Muslim, ever wonder what this word really means? Who is classified as Muslim? Someone that is
Muslim is not a terrorist, nor a bad person. They are humans. Someone that is a Muslim only has an
Islamic belief. This word originated in Arabia where this whole culture developed (BBC "Islam").
Islam followers, or Muslims, were introduced to their culture from the Prophet Muhammad (BBC "
Islam"). The word Islam comes up very often, but who knows what it means? It is said to be the
"submission to the will of God (BBC "Islam")." Majority of the U.S. population today see Muslims

Women must cover their heads but men have the choice, but many do cover their heads to show a
sign of respect to god (Gulevich 145). "A small defect is often woven into each rug. These

Prayer time takes place at certain times: before sunrise, noon, mid afternoon, between sunset and
dusk, and when it is dark. When praying they follow the sun and pray in the direction on Mecca.
For respect in prayer time they must take off their shoes just like in Hindu culture it shoes a sign of
respect (Gulevich 150). In public in Islamic countries segregations takes places between men and
women. Women may not attend mosque only on Friday and only in some places. Women also have
to wear "loose– fitting clothing that covers them from head– to– toe and only face and hands can be
seen. In America such segregation does not take place between men and women except when at
mosque. Many women choose to follow their religion even when living outside of their country and
at a certain age their girls are expected to follows also (Gulevich 190–208). Just like in Hindus,
Muslims also use these beads which help with repetitive remembrance of God and meditation. The

Buddhists, and European Catholics have a similar way of remembering God and practicing

Islamic Achievements
The Islamic civilization had many great achievements and accomplishments that have contributed to
world culture. Islamic achievements have helped other cultures adopt new ideas and make great
advancements in an immense variety of fields. These fields include medicine, art and literature,
architecture, astronomy, philosophy, and mathematics. Islamic achievements also assisted in making
daily life for the Muslim people a lot easier. Of all the Islamic achievements, those in the field of
medicine, mathematics, and art were the most important and influential to world today. Mecca was

Islam had a reasonable government. Many people believed in Islam and joined the religion. One of
the rules of the government of Islam was to go by the rules of what you are told to do and follow
the same rules the first Muslims followed. If the rules weren't followed, the Islam must clarify the

Pre Islamic Era:
The word 'Islam' refers to the submission to God Almighty. It is described as 'Deen' in the Holy

B.Emigration of First Muslims to Abyssinia
Due to the hostility of the Meccans, some eighty Muslims migrated to Abyssinia to take refuge from

The Islamic religion is a religion where everything is devoted to Allah (God). The religion is
stereo typed to be a religion of violence and hate but that's not fully true. As our class learned more
and more about the religion of Islam, the view totally changed on the religion. I chose to focus on
prayer and how it changes perspective on many of Muslims lives, Ramadan and how it changes
their outlook on their own lives and lives of the poor, and Women inIslam and what they could do
or not do. The prayer system for Islamic people has much more devotion and time consuming than
many other religions. Prayer is taken seriously in Islam, many pray 5 times a day, once in the early
morning, afternoon, mid–evening, sunset and late night. The prayer is known to connect people
with Allah and helps you become a better Muslim by following the five pillars of Islam. Other
than the prayer itself, they have to clean themselves before praying to their god because he is so
holy that they have to clean themselves before praying to him. The sacred of this would be how
you feel when you pray to Allah and what you feel like after praying Allah. It becomes sacred by
the repetition of this action and becomes more of a daily action than a duty or being forced to
pray, because they'll go out of their way to pray to Allah and show or prove to him that they are

Religion is something that is not easily defined. In order to even attempt to define it, one has to
look at multiple religions. Muslims believe in only one god, those who practice Hinduism believe

For many years while trying to convert those of neighboring clans, constant feuding over the Kaaba
and the city of Mecca ensued. Eventually Muhammad attacked Mecca to where the city
surrendered. Mecca was changed into the new homeland of Islam, and the former pagan Kaaba was
transformed into the monument in which all Muslims are to make a pilgrimage to. The Arabic

The essence of Islam is the very essence of humanity. Islam is a complete and comprehensive way of
life. It leads to a balanced way of living. Islam brings civilization and happiness to man. Islamic

equality among people demonstrate the best egalitarian features: the highly–placed man cannot take
advantage of his position, and the weak person is not made to despair of his condition.
Human beings are all Slaves of God. In Islam, no superiority, no distinction and no pre–eminence
can be lawfully claimed by one over the other except by virtue of piety. All people are equal in their
social status and this is fully manifested in the congregational prayers where there is no room for
rank and special privilege. All are equal in the sight of God whether he is a caliph or a slave. The

The purpose of this paper is to explore the principles of Islamic ethics to be applied in construction
projects by establishing Islamic ethical practices to improve project performance. In an Islamic
system, ethics and construction business are perfect as well as they are inextricably linked. This
paper aims primarily to identify the ethics in general and from an Islamic perspective. Secondly,
identify the principles of Islamic ethics in construction projects. The methodology of this paper
through the sources of evidence was used peer–reviewed empirical studies and reviews published in
academic journals. In addition, specialist texts to review the principles of Islamic ethics in
construction projects in order to give an overview of main ethics theories. This paper will discuss the
impact of Islamic ethics on performance jobs and project outcomes. Finally, this study also shows

Accounts of Islamic civilization can be seen in many different things, including religion, art and
architecture, science and philosophy, and gender roles, which all show the ways that it
contributed to not only the past society but today's world as well. In four lectures at a public
library, I will be describing Islamic civilization using the four topics previously mentioned along
