Would you want to be tortured and remain miserable all so somebody could test on you? Animal
testing is continuing to be a major issue happening all around us. We need to raise awareness for
these animals. To the animals we are their only hope. This ongoing issue is a topic we need to
become more informed about, as its very important. Animals are treated as objects instead of living
creatures. The testing includes about 80% of these experiments are used for research and drug
development. The u.s. law allows animals to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved,
drowned, addicted to drugs, and brain damaged. The way they go about the testing needs to be
changed. There needs to be alternatives without the harm of animals or any living creature. Testing
on animals can be an acceptation, but its about the way they treat them to do these tests.
When we decide to experiment on these animals, we are not getting accurate results. Not only is this

There are about more than 100 million animals that are killed in laboratories. Animals are innocent
and many of them include mice, rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, cats, and dogs. These animals are

favourite cosmetic products. However, it is sad to say that there is still a major problem in regards
to animal testing in 2017; 'why?' you may wonder, and to put it simply, for the release of your
newest, highly anticipated mascara or lipstick – when put into perspective this suffering seems
surplus to requirements. The 'Cruelty–Free International' have confirmed this year that there are
currently over 115 million animals of varying species and breeds being used for animal testing
worldwide; and for whose benefit – well, ours, can our own benefit really overshadow the unethical
mistreatment of animals.
These statistics are daunting, and you may have previously read about the horrors of animal–testing,
leading to brief feelings of guilt or sadness, but ultimately feeling unable to do anything significant
in regards to making a difference carried on buying brands which test on animals. By choosing to
buy cruelty–free brands you are effectively making a stand and saying 'no' to animal testing. This
may seem inconsequential, yet what language is unanimous to the entire beauty industry – profit. By
refusing business and stopping monetary flow to businesses until they agree to stop animal testing.
In order to do so though you must also make the effort to become informed on what brands are and
aren't cruelty–free seeing as many prefer to keep the unfortunate truths of

Animal testing is present in many research fields. From developing medicine, like the polio vaccine,
to cosmetics, to test for skin and eye irritations. The way these animals are treated and killed is
inhumane and unethical. There are better ways to test human products that would not involve
animal cruelty, they could also provide more accurate results. For these reasons, animal testing for
commercial or scientific purposes should not be legal.
The way animal test subjects are treated can be described as poorly at best. Sadistically is more
accurate though. Animals used in testing can be subject to food and water deprivation, force
feeding, prolonged periods of physical restraint, forced inhalation, the infliction of burns and other
wounds to study healing, the infliction of pain to study its effects and remedies. Skin and eye
irritation tests where chemicals are rubbed onto the shaved skin or dripped into the eyes of
restrained rabbits without pain relief. Repeated force–feeding studies lasting weeks or months to
look for signs of general illness or specific health hazards such as cancer or birth defects. Also,

Using human cells can more accurately show how humans would react to them. Artificial human
skin is made from sheets of human skin cells grown in test tubes or plastic wells and can produce
more useful results than testing chemicals on animal skin (Alternatives to Animal Testing). When
animals are used, the results are not necessarily helpful. Aspirin is dangerous for some animal
species and was "almost shelved" because of animal test results (Animals and Public Health) because

large, unfamiliar looking menacing figure approaches you and prods you with needles and all

stop animal testing") That is a lot of animals to be stripped from their homes and sanctioned to this
punishment. A big part of animal testing too is that even though they have gotten a lot better with
