4. PLASTIC ROAD
Plastic roads are the roads made by using plastic as
chief constituent material, to minimize the plastic
accumulation. Plastic roads are roads made either entirely
plastic or of composites of plastic with the other materials.
4
5. WHY THE USE OF PLASTIC
âąDurable, corrosion resistant and have long life.
âąGood insulation for cold, heat and sound saving
energy and reducing noise pollution.
âąEasy of processing and installation.
âąHelps in reducing global warming.
âąIt saves recycling cost and thus proves to be
economical construction material.
âąIt promotes eco friendly construction system.
5
11. PROBLEMs
1. Disposal Of Waste.
2. Non Biodegradability.
3. Land Infertility.
4. Marine Life Disturbance.
5. Air Pollution.
Ultimately increases threats of GLOBALWARMING
11
12. ADVANTAGES
ï±Strength of the road is increased.
ï±Better resistance to water and water stagnation.
ï±No stripping and have no potholes.
ï±Increased binding and better bonding of the mix.
ï±Better soundness property.
ï±Maintenance cost of the road is almost nil.
ï±No effect of radiation like UV.
ï±The use of waste plastics on the road has helped to provide the better
place for burying the plastic waste without causing disposal problem.
ï±Employment for unskilled labours will be generated.
12
13. DISADVANTAGES
ï±Cleaning process â Toxics present in the comingled plastic waste
would start reaching.
ï±During the road laying process â In the presence of chlorine will
release noxious HCL gas.
ï±After the road laying â It is opined that the first rain will trigger
leaching. As the plastics will merely form a sticky layer.
ï±The components of the road, once it has been laid, are not inert.

14. FUTURE SCOPE
It acts to be environmental savior due to lack of dumping
sites in the present scenario, so there is need to save the land, this
process leads as the savior of environment. From the above
conclusion this process can be assumed to be the economical
process as less transportation cost requires and also the construction
cost is less. To produce and secure a system of sale based packed
precast concrete batches, in which CNC waste and recycled coarse
aggregate concrete will be present.

15. CONCLUSION
Plastics will increase the melting point of the bitumen. The
use of the innovative technology not only strengthened the road
construction but also increased the road life as well as will help to
improve the environment and also creating a source of income.
Plastic roads would be a boon for Indiaâs hot and extremely humid
climate, where temperature frequently cross 50 C and torrential rains
create havoc, leaving most of the roads with the big potholes. It is
hoped that in near future we will have strong durable and eco-
friendly roads which will relieve the earth from all types of plastic
wastes.
