Minimal bacterial counts are what we
aim for and in the interest of best
patient care, international standards
for sterilization are followed to prevent
the spread of infections.

12. Sterilization procedure for Dental
instruments:
STAGE 1:
Soaking:
After use, all the instruments from each
patient are dipped in an antiseptic
solution. This ensures safety of both the
patient and the healthcare worker.
STAGE 2:
Scrubbing:
All instruments are scrubbed using
autoclaved brushes to remove the debris.

13. STAGE 3:
Ultrasonic water bath:
The instruments are kept in an
Ultrasonic cleaner to shake off all the
debris.
STAGE 4:
Packaging:
All instruments are packed in
sterilization rolls and heat sealed.

14. STAGE 4:
Autoclaving:
i. International standards require the use of a Class B
autoclave
i. A Prion cycle at 134°C is used by us for all surgical
instruments.
ii. A validation of every sterilization cycle is performed with
maintenance of all records.

15. STAGE 5:
Storage:
Instruments are packed and stored along with their
validation indicator strip.

16. STAGE 6:
Before use all stored instruments are checked for date
of sterilization and santity of heat seal.

ensure SAL (Sterility Assurance Levels) in tandem with
all the International standards.
Pradhan Dental Centre is one of the only clinics with
the OSHAS 18001 certification (Occupational Health
& Safety Management system) that ensures safety of
