1. Who is an influencer? An influencer is a person who makes or weighs in on a purchase
decision. In a B-to-B situation, an influencer might be any team
member involved in the purchase decision, the ultimate decision
maker, a purchasing agent, or executive. Other influencers might
be advisers, consultants, or trade associations. For a consumer
purchase, the lead influencer could be the buyer herself or a friend
or family member.
*2. How is a “peer-level
conversation” different from
a traditional qualitative
marketing research interview?
 The Revelation interview does not follow a precise word-for-
word script as do most research interviews. This keeps the tone
both friendly and conversational.
 We use a customized approach that puts the participant in a
relaxed, engaged and supportive frame of mind.
 We create a peer-level relationship. In “conversations” in
the real world, both parties participate when there is a mutual
benefit. In each Revelation study, we create specific tangible
benefits for participants for having a conversation with us.

respondents are contacted in
a Revelation Study?
Typically 20 to 30 participants comprise a Revelation study
module. To enlarge the study, we create additional modules,
completing and analyzing the first prior to moving on to additional
modules.
4. How are Revelation
conversational interviews
conducted?
Most often, we reach and communicate with participants by
phone. If appropriate, we may meet participants face-to-face.
5. How do you reach hard-to-
reach influencers?
We start with the best available contact lists of potential
participants. Often clients provide us with lists of current or past
customers, or prospects. For each study, we develop a tailored
peer-level contact scenario that maximizes participation rates.
6. What do you mean by
saying Revelation is “real
research?”
While the advent of online web and mobile research survey tools
has brought many advantages to marketing research, there have
been some sacrifices. The often heard recruitment appeal is that
an online survey is ‘quick’; this results in a respondent mindset
of fast rather than well-thought-out responses. Our Revelation
conversational interview process results in valid responses that are
probed for clarification and accuracy. Revelation is real research.

Who is an influencer? An influencer is a person who makes or weighs in on a purchase decision. In a B-to-B situation, an influencer might be any team member involved in the purchase decision, the ultimate decision maker, a purchasing agent, or executive.
