2. RESEARCH AND PLANNING
Research and planning is important because it helps you understand the genre. Itâs
important to research on the genre so you know your target audience and the
generic conventions of the film so people can identify the genre, it also helps you
film the right things for example if youâre doing a horror opening then you will
need to have a lot of dark and terrifying conventions you canât keep film a love
story because thatâs not horror itâs romance.
Planning is important because when itâs time for you film you can go film straight
away and you will know what shots to do straight away. Also you will get a idea of
how your opening is going to be.
3. WHAT PROGRAM DID YOU USE?
The programs I used was Google, YouTube, IMD, Prezi and
Webs
4. WHAT KIND OF RESEARCH DID YOU
DO?
When it was time to research films I went on IMDB and looked for films in the
genre wrote them down and then I watched them and analyzed one. I concentrated
on the types of clothes they wore and what made the first two minutes mysterious.
ď The films I watched were The girl with the dragon tattoo
ď The shooter
ď Abduction
When watching the girl with the dragon tattoo I remember a extreme long shot of
the area and then a close up to the house as the phone starts to ring.
5. WHAT KIND OF PLANNING DID YOU
DO?
We first thought of ideaâs for the opening and we all pitched in our ideaâs and came
to a conclusion that it should be a drug deal gone wrong. We thought of way
how we could get the bag to be swapped. The original idea was to have to boys
go on the train station and a 2 random boys get into a fight and both of the
main characters drop their bags and try and stop it and the innocent character
seeâs his train and quickly picks up the wrong bag.
We all made sure we was free after school and during the weekend to film parts for
the opening. We used to go filming every weekend. This was effective because we
got the filming done and we knew what we was doing. We knew what kind of
shots we had to do and where we had to go.
