This live blog discusses jobs in the digital industry and profiles two digital professionals. It also prompts attendees to brainstorm things their mobile devices could do. The digital industry encompasses designers, developers, animators, marketers, salespeople, and data analysts, as well as project managers and social media managers. The blog introduces Sarah, a designer, and Jonny, a digital marketing manager, sharing details about their work. Attendees are then divided into groups to quickly generate ideas for new mobile device capabilities.

Jonny. So as a class you’ve chosen the mobile challenge - to introduce the challenge here’s a few important things to consider when thinking about mobile.\n\n(BIMA MOBILE CHALLENGE SLIDE)\n
Mobile usage is increasing dramatically: “Mobile to overtake fixed Internet access by 2014″ \n\nIndustries need to adapt to the rate of users needs:\n\n• People want to watch youtube in bed\n• Tweet whilst watching \n• Find the latest headlines whilst eating breakfast.\n\n(Is there an infographic that shows mobile taking over?)\n\nSARAH\n\n\n
These are the mobiles we used to have, they are:\n\nOur Mobiles - Pros and cons\nNokia 3210, Sony Erikson \nDoesn’t break \n10 whole text messages\nfree snake\nring tones\n\nSarah’s comedy showcase\n\n\n
Mobile: \n\nHow many people have a mobile?\n Who does more than text and calls?\nAnyone check-in? what else do you do? Take photos etc...\n\nJonny - edit this, remain standing if...\n
Advantages\nHtc, iPhone, Blackberry \nMultimedia / Social media \nAccess information anywhere\nLocation based services\nWith you anywhere\n\nEmail\nTake photos\nRecord videos\nuse as a dictaphone\nupload/ share things instantly \nPassbook- points via your phone\nwireless syncing\n\nJONNY\n
Two key things in mobile are:\n\nLive Broadcasting\nGeolocation\n\nJonny\n
Mobile isn’t just the device you hold in your hand, it could be: \n\nAdidas chip boots\nNike fuel band (new slide?)\nSat nav\n\nJonny\n\n\n

Who knows what’s going on in this photo?\n\nJonny\n\n\n\n
Anything is possible - a GREAT content idea sits at the heart of digital\n\n\n
Sarah\n\nWhat do you find hard work? \nWhat do you wish you were able to do?\nHow could your mobile help?\n\nThink about new tech\n

But remember - apps especially need to serve two purposes. One of the above...\n\nInclude screengrabs of apps. Angry Birds / Trainlines. \n\nJonny\n
