- What is the molarity of HCl found in a titration where 150 ml of HCl is titrated with 50 ml of .1
M NaOH?
Please answer all or as many as you can. This is the last question I can post this month and need
help coming to these answers. Thank you!
Solution
1. Ni-----> Ni+ + e- . (Oxidation)
Zn2+ +2e ----> Zn. (Reduction)
Losing electrons is oxidation and gaining electrons is reduction
2. Cu -----> Cu2+ + 2e . (Oxidation)
Ag+ + e ----->Ag . (Reduction)
Cu loses electron and Ag gains electron.
3. Na -----> Na+ + e
Cl2 -----> 2Cl- + 2e
Here both lose electrons, hence both are oxidised.
4. Al -----> Al3+ + 3e. (Oxidation)
Fe2+ + 2e -----> Fe . (Reduction)
Here Al loses electrons and Fe gains electrons.
