What about the Definition Phase
• Building and delivering on time the ATM Master Plan, with the « buy
in » of all the Stakeholders, was a true challenge
• The Master Plan reaches DSNA global expectations and constitute a
solid base for our futur technological choices (4-Flight programme).
• This challenge has been reached despite a very tight planning and
even if some objectives have not been described at the right level of
details.

• WP-E is the SESAR workpackage for long-term and innovative
research
• Lead by EUROCONTROL-EEC (WP and SWP leaders)
• Total co-financing for research activities: 23 M€
• Networks, which are groupings of researchers that share common
interest and expertise in a particular field of ATM and lead PhDs
• Projects, which are well bounded pieces of research that may be
classed as long-term or innovative
• Four research themes have been defined in collaboration with
partners including the Scientific Committee:

The System Engineering activities are :
organized per OFA (Operational Focus Area)
supported by and synchronised through Releases:
• SESAR Release embeds groups of projects delivering, in a determined
timeframe, R&D results that will support decision to move related
activities to the industrialisation stage (end of V3)

DSNA participation in the SJU
• DSNA is actively involved in the SESAR JU and will bring all its R&D
capacity with its long experience as a Service Provider.
• 62 full time equivalent over 7 years
• Participation to 79 projects (budget: over 67 Meuros)

– ONERA

– 16% of the effort will be sub-contracted

Prepare the deployment phase
- SJU Works on a Pilot Common Project including the
methodology to move from the implementation view in the
ATM Master Plan to a business view
- Once adopted, it will constitute the main basis for inviting the
industry to submit proposals for the selection of the
deployment manager, which will be entrusted to carry out
the deployment of the first common project, by defining the
detailed deployment programme and the related
implementation projects
