CyberKnife
can
noninvasively
treat
prostate
cancer
in
five
or
fewer

sessions.
How
it
works:
• CyberKnife
treats
prostate
cancer
with
a
procedure
called
stereotac:c
body
radia:on
therapy,
a
noninvasive
method
of
trea:ng
tumors
with
precisely
targeted
high-‐dose

The
result
is
greatly
increased

• Prior
to
treatment,
small
metal

markers
known
as
fiducials
are
implanted
in
the
prostate
to
help
the
CyberKnife
pinpoint
the
tumor
loca:on
throughout
each
treatment,
ensuring
the
radiaFon
beams
delivered
during
treatment
are
always
locked
on
the
tumor.
• Pa:ents
are
then
scheduled
for
no
more
than
five
CyberKnife
treatments.
Each
treatment
takes
about
30
-‐
40
minutes,
and
paFents
can
return
to
their
normal
rouFnes
following
each
procedure.
• In
recent
years,
CyberKnife
has
gained
awareness
among
prostate
cancer
pa:ents
in

Many
men
are
drawn
to
the
