Context & Rationale




 In the last 20 years livestock sector has been growing faster
  than other agricultural sectors in India

 Livestock rearing is a key risk mitigation strategy for the
  poorest in rain-fed regions, such as in the NE

 Support to livestock rearing contributes significantly to
  women empowerment at household and village level
