o A Stibo Systems study suggests that 48% of retailers plan to increase mobile spend for 2012.
─ Of those, 53% plan to optimize their desktop sites for mobile use, while 44% plan to
facilitate mobile transactions.
o Vivaki distributed a 2 page snapshot of Tablet Quick Facts (attached at bottom of email).
Key insights include:
─ Most often, tablets are being used to search for information, visit social networks, check
email, watch video and be entertained
─ Tablet users spend an avg. of 80 min. a day on their tablet, and Vivaki predicts this to
grow to 3 hours a day by 2015
─ Vivaki expects the tablet user profile to mirror that of the typical internet user by 2015

o 21% of consumer search for a coupon on their mobile device while in a store. (JiWire
Study)
─ 80% of the on-the-go audience prefers locally relevant advertising and 75% are more
likely to take an action after seeing a location-specific message,
o M-commerce is huge. 68% of the leading e-retailers have developed smartphone apps
and 59% have built mobile commerce sites (Zmags & HawksPartners)
─ While over two-thirds of the retailers have iPhone apps, only half offer the ability to
purchase via the app
─ And while about 40% of the top 100 e-retailers have iPad apps, 25% of those apps don’t
include purchasing capability
