We were struggling to find meat cutters for a national grocery retailer in Virginia Beach.
When we changed the job title from ‘Meat Cutter’ to ‘Butcher’ we saw significant shifts.
The role remained the same, but our results improved dramatically. Our test proved not
that Butcher will always win over Meat Cutter, but that experimenting with how jobs are
advertised in a given local market can generate huge benefits.
Job Posting Title Click Rate Application Rate
‘Meat Cutter’ 3.7% 12.7%
‘Butcher’ 6.5% 14.2%
