1. Production: Filming…
In regardsto the productionof my filmopening,there wassome trulypositiveelementstoit
howeverthere wasseveral prominentissues.Firstlymyactorsdidnot mix well withthe script.
DuringrehearsalsIdidn’tfeel asthoughthe scriptwasbeingpresentina wayinwhichtranslated
the filminthe bestpossible of lights.MoreoverIsatdownwithmy actors and crafteda solution:a
newscript.Thisflowedextremelywell andthe outcome wasextremelypositivewherebythe actors
respondedwell.Thisalsoallowedtosequencestobe more suitedinregardstomy visionof the film
opening. Iwashappywiththisdecisionasitagain allowedthe filmopeningtobe genially betterand
more developed.
Additionallythe costume of ‘Theo’s’characteradditionallychanged.Thiswasdue tocostume
misplacement.We thensatdownwiththe actors and spoke aboutwhatthe most reasonpositive
solutionwouldbe.Moreoverthisiswhatyoucan see inthe filmopeningnow.Severalof myshots
changed/developedtoo.Thiswasbecause of lightingandthatI wantedtofurtherdevelopmyskills
regardingangle shots.Ultimatelytoshow youthe extentof whichmycameraabilityis.
In regardsto the story line…duringthe editingprocessof myfilmopeningIfeltasthoughit would
be better/more effective if Ialteredthe storyline tomake itmore interestingand‘horror’like.
MoreoverI decidedtoaddtwo additional sectionsin.Ihad‘Jo’inbedat the beginningandend
(sandwichedinwithmyinitial idea) inhope to create a more eyrie atmosphere.Ifeltlike thiswasa
gooddecisionasit made the filmmore interestingandcreatedmore of a cliff-hangerending.It
additionallyhelpedtomake the filmopeningmore dynamicand‘horror’like forthe audience.
Overall despitethe above all productionwenttoplanandI am pleasantlyhappywithhow things
turnedout.The lightingonthe daywasperfectand shotshopefullyreflectthis.Myactorsresponded
well tochange and directionandIcan onlythankthemforthat. I wasable to use all the equipment
listedinmypre-productiontohelpme- againhopefullythis isreflectedwithinmyfinalisededitof
the film.

chose thisenvironmentdue tothe
fact that itmatchedto actors
clothing:dull andgrey.Thisagain
adds tothe atmosphere andcreate

2. Above are imagesof the new elementtothe film.Thislocationwas
deliberatelychosenbecauseitallowedthe mainfocustobe on the
actor. Because all the wallsare white and‘bland’lookingagainthe
audience can focusmainlyonthe actor andall attentionison her.
