Shall we start?
Good morning everyone, I’m glad to be here. Let me introduce myself. My name es Belén García Carnicero. I am a student at the Murcia School of Arts, where I am studying illustration.
Today I’m going to talk about the art of Aaron Blaise.
I have divided my presentation into 3 parts: Biography, Techniques and Portfolio.
First let me tell you about the biography of Aaron Blaise.
Aaron Blaise is an illustrator and animator. He lives in Florida, in the United States.
For over 20 years, he has worked as an animator with Disney to help create some of their most memorable characters from (continues in the next slide)
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin.
Lion King and more.
He also co-directed the Academy Award-nominated film Brother Bear.
By now, he is working with a few fellow creative and they are developing a series of online art and animation tutorials on his website. Their mision is to make art and art education affordable to the masses.
He is also continuing to work in the field of animation and filmaking. Last Christmas he was the character designer and co-animator supervisor on ‘The Bear and the Hare’ for John Lewis. It was a combination of traditional animation and stop motion.
In the next section I will explain the techniques that he uses.
I have divided it into traditional and digital art
In the traditional way, he use to work with ink, watercolour, pastel and oleo.
It tends to work with traditional media when he takes notes from the natural to make animations.
He works with a Cintiq. He loves it because is the closest feelong as if he is working traditionaly, because he is able to draw right on the screen. He didn’t wanted to change to digital work, but once he started working on the Cintiq, he found the transition very easy and discovered that the visual possibilities were endless.
He works with Adobe Photoshop exclusively.
If he is doing animation, he uses TVPaint. It has been the closest thing he can find that feels like he is still working in a traditional way
Finally, i’m gping to show you some of his portfolio.
