 treatment with anticipated annual income of USD 240 million<br />Presented the concept to Bank management and escalated it to UBS Wealth Management Americas Management for approval.<br />Managed and delegated all processes involved in the initiative from acquiring appropriate accounting software, purchasing appropriate analytics tools and staffing.<br />Chaired a group of ten people around the globe who were tasked with implementing the proposed changes.<br />Transferred the accounting management of the portfolio from the Investment Bank to Wealth Management Americas within a three week period; selling short-duration assets from Trading Book and making purchases in the new Available for Sale book.<br />Implemented a new strategy to increase the yield on the portfolio from LIBOR flat to roughly LIBOR + 200, through the purchase of a mix of mortgage-backed securities while ensuring compliance with all Bank policies.<br />1994 - 2003: <br />UBS Senior Vice President: Trading Manager of Money Market Desk<br />Increased the market share in commercial paper during my tenure from USD 4 billion to USD 16 billion and Auction Rate Preferred securities outstandings doubled from USD 4 billion to over USD 8 billion with a commensurate increase in profitability through trading revenues and origination fees.  <br />Coordinated with the UBS Investment Bankers in the US and my ECP trading counterparts in London to increase new issuance opportunities and lever UBS's premier reputation overseas to garner more US business.<br />Educated salespeople and investors on the structure and nuances of securities marketed by the desk.<br />Responsible for the successful transition of both businesses during the UBS acquisition of Paine Webber; from execution, to clearing, to managing account concerns.<br />Managed of staff of nine.<br />1995 - 1998: <br /> Paine Webber Corporate Vice President:  Managed day-to-day activities and operations of the Money Market Trading Desk<br />Responsible for: Retail CD's, B.A.'s, Auction Rate Preferred Stock, and Commercial Paper.  Monitored positions, risk, and profit-and-loss of the desk while continuing in the role of senior commercial paper trader.<br />Affected a seamless transition of all Money Market Businesses from Kidder, Peabody and Company to Paine Webber in December 1994, maintaining virtually all money market investors and providing borrowers with an uninterrupted flow of funds and short-term liability management expertise.<br />1991 - 1994: <br />Kidder Peabody, and Company Vice President: Managed commercial paper desk and increased its profitability 25% through the implementation of more effective financing techniques and aggressive trading strategies.  <br />Expanded product breadth. <br /> Established relationships with street brokers; acquiring blue chip names otherwise unavailable to the sales force.<br />Key participant in calls soliciting new business.  Aided in the development of an on-line trading system.<br />1981 - 1990:  Lehman Brothers<br />Vice President, Senior Commercial Paper Trader Chief Trader of Shearson Lehman commercial paper program.
